Retired medical librarian, lifelong blue dot in a distressingly red state. Now that the US is apparently Alabama, I suppose I shouldn't feel lonely... #angret

Why does the government need private jets is maybe a question we should be asking.

I could kinda buy any other President pretending they’re shrugging off 7 million people hitting the streets to convey they hate him, but not the guy still beefing with Rosie O’Donnell.

Deleted my last post to correct a mistake. Eddie LaCour still has one hurdle to cross to become a judge. Maybe the Senate can consider whether he told the truth to the Judiciary Committee. We'll see.
Trump appointee didn’t tell Senate the whole truth. They could soon make him a judge.
Edmund LaCour said Alabama didn't defy federal courts. That's not what the judges over the case said.

If you’re planning to protest tomorrow:

1. Thank you! Make it big. Stay peaceful.

2. Be careful. There will be people trying to agitate and stir shit up.

3. Take a buddy if you can. If not, video is your friend.

4. Have a plan to get the fuck out if it goes sideways.

Fascism was allowed to rise in the 1930s because Italian and German businesses thought it would be better for them under these authoritarian regimes.

Businesses want to live in a world where everyone has to pay them. That's why they are okay with this.

🧵 Analysis: Banning abortion is a hallmark of authoritarian regimes, as abortion bans instantly oppress a huge swath of society. Enforcing them begets a police state—an upside for dictators from Mussolini to Orbán.

Banning Abortion Is a Hallmark of Authoritarian Regimes
From the Soviet Union to El Salvador, authoritarian governments have, historically, targeted reproductive rights. Now, it’s happening in the U.S.
