One of the most genuinely interesting results from addiction studies is that you can get addicted to ALMOST everything, and the exceptions are basically porn and sex. Actual sex therapists & researchers call it bunk even if they'd personally profit from it, because its bunk!

One of mine is that bit in Wyrd Sisters where Maggrat's ruminating about magic, how it has this tendency to manifest in people who's natural inclinations are to live as isolated as possible, like how wizards lock themselves up in universities and witches live in hills and travel to villages.

The “normalization” argument about fiction sucks ass and always has. The distance between puriteens and Jack Fucking Thompson is negligible.
