People are so patronising to me when I talk about porn addiction not being real and I find it funny because it always becomes quickly obvious how much those people haven’t done any research into the topic themselves, not a single second, not even a basic Wikipedia search.

It’s not a viewpoint it’s scientific fact and no one was blowing you off, I went to search for sources about how porn affects the brain. The first time I responded to you I was quoting a post with proof, about how anti porn groups frequently lie about how porn affects the brain for profit.

This will be the hill I die on, “porn addiction” is not real, that phrase specifically is used as a dog whistle and is backed only by pseudoscience which has been created by right wing fascist organisations with the intention to demonise minorities. It is not real, actual science proves it isn’t.

Porn addiction isn’t real, saying it is harms minorities. Idk what more you want me to say. People don’t get to use rhetoric that harms sex workers because it makes them *feel like* they’re combatting abuse. People being misogynistic is simply not an excuse to use terms and rhetoric which harms sex workers, who are predominantly women and marginalised genders. “Porn addicts” aren’t a real thing. Abusive people are. Words mean things and we should use them accurately.
