I'm just a girl in the SE US, and I promise I don't bite! Unless you ask me to, anyway. #introduction

Okay, hear me out, and I know this is a hot take for some: Leisure Suit Larry '87.

Look, those old Sierra games kinda sucked for many reasons, including parser fights, and LSL was that unique combination of unfunny and misogynistic that topped even Space Quest II

I'd love to be proven wrong here, but I suspect the experience will be similar to mine. The parents of these kids will have to spend hours without support finding another provider with availability and that's covered by their insurance from a quickly constructed list.
lena.realitywerks.com
Will Fenway Health do better? I doubt it. For a practice to dismiss some of its most vulnerable patients suggests that they're not going to go through the costly and time-consuming case management efforts of validating insurance coverage and availability for another practice.

...and a phone call informing me that I'd get that letter, that my new doctor would need to fax over a request for medical records, and I'd better find one soon because my next appointment was cancelled.

None of the doctors on the list I received were accepting new patients.

In my case, my doctor decided to go into concierge medicine and dropped any of his patients who weren't going to cough up the thousands of dollars a year for it. (Evidently concierge pays better than Medicaid/Medicare.)

The "continuity of care" was a mailed photocopy of a list of some other PCPs...
lena.realitywerks.com
Regarding Fenway Health's egregious abandonment of trans kids, I know there's snippet where they commit to continuity of care (i.e., finding providers and telling people about them).

Speaking as someone who got "continuity of care" notification from a doctor in the past, this is... less than useful

Look sometimes I write poetry about politics too 😅

In all seriousness, getting people excited about what could be when we're magnificent is the best feeling

I live for the moments when
I'm talking politics
I start bouncing on the balls of my feet
I'm yapping passionately about
Universal child care or
Functioning mass transit or
Memphis being more awesome

And their eyes light up
And they start bouncing
Because for a moment
They feel the light of hope

(For those playing at home, the reason I bring up originalism is because this case is at SCOTUS, and several of the justices are big into that "theory." The quoted post is a great thread that touches on how dumb it is that we've gotten to this point.)
lena.realitywerks.com
This here is as clear an example as any of why "originalism" is unserious and intellectually dishonest.

In historical context, obviously 14A and 15A are about race -- specifically, protecting Black people's rights against egregious abuses by whites!

Incredibly stupid times, indeed
angryblacklady.blacksky.app
Just so everyone is clear, the main issue in the Supreme Court voting rights case tomorrow is whether it's racist against white people to enforce the Voting Rights Act.

I'm dead serious. We live in incredibly stupid times.

Narrator: They were, in fact, usage-maxxing
lena.realitywerks.com
If that is true, please explain this: bsky.app/profile/esqu...

As this quoted post sounds very much like Fenway Health, in Massachusetts, has in fact backed down and is restricting access to health care for trans kids.
esqueer.net
Fenway health in Boston has stopped providing gender affirming care to trans youth.

I was previously on the board of this organization and I've never been so disgusted with their leadership cowardly capitulating like this.

Statement from Fenway Health explaining that due to new federal requirements effective October 1, 2025, they can no longer provide medical gender-affirming care such as hormones and puberty blockers to patients under 19, but all other services for patients of all ages will continue unchanged.

Do you want selfies of cute girls? Because leaving me at the office after 5pm is how you get selfies of cute girls

Yes, those screenshots are definitely showing that people are pissed at Weiss leading CBS News because of *checks hand* antisemitism

Certainly not because of what they actually say about her extremely documented utter lack of competence and partisan hackery

Oh my, I'm sure those are spicy, to put it mildly...

I think this is pretty common for trans women of wealth or income. The corruption of class convinces these women that they're better than the rest of us. This is especially true if they were already inclined that way by way of a burning desire that they weren't trans

I genuinely think Ari Drennen does not think of trans people who exist below a certain tax bracket, yet insists on generalizing her incredibly narrow and limited worldview to the experiences of a population pushed out of the formal economy worldwide.

I'd love wifi in mine, maybe 5G support, remote control...

...wait I already have options for the latter 🤣

💯

This is especially true in cities currently under siege by out of control police and the menace of ICE -- such as Memphis, where our electeds have largely rolled over and preemptively complied.

I will *never* do that. I've seen too much abuse, and been abused too much, by cops already

Adding to my fun today is being informed that because my new primary insurance (Anthem) doesn't cover Apretude PrEP, my secondary won't even try.

You'd think these companies would give out PrEP like candy to avoid the cost of HIV treatment, but apparently not
lena.realitywerks.com
Just remember: just because your medical insurance has broad gender-affirming care coverage doesn't mean you won't be fucked by the pharmacy benefits
lena.realitywerks.com
That's not a "well if the legal system does a thing" concern; neither of my insurance plans cover it and my doctor doesn't want to fight with them over it

Right now I'm also fighting for access to PrEP that I can take, as Descovy and Truvada seem to do a number on my kidneys

Looking cute today

Why, you'd never know I'm about to lose access to prescribed HRT
