They aren’t hiding the totalitarianism, folks.
Stephen Miller on Fox threatens to arrest JB Pritzker for "seditious conspiracy" and says, "to all ICE officers: you have federal immunity in the conduct of your duties. And anybody who lays a hand on you or tries to stop or obstruct you is committing a felony."

The GOP in Congress are worse than useless. They are craven enablers of murder.

Deeply racist, yes, but also deeply stupid.

Rural counties have higher enrollments than urban ones. Some of the largest enrollment states are red ones like Louisiana, Oklahoma and West Virginia. Undocumented immigrants are ineligible. Most beneficiaries are required to work 80 hrs/month.
May I present a former clerk to Justice Gorsuch.

Did you know that over 1.3M active duty service members and veterans rely on SNAP benefits to feed themselves and their families?

Now you know.

SNAP isn't about "people who don't work." It's about people who don't get paid enough to live.

Of the 40 or so million people who rely on food stamps:

* Two-thirds are children, seniors, or disabled

* Most working-age adults who receive SNAP are employed—but in jobs that pay poverty wages

Thinking about how Trump loved to say “You’re not even going to have a country,” and realizing that was a campaign promise that he’s keeping.

I looked it up once. SNAP takes 2% of the US budget and 93% of the money goes to the actual poor people instead of to the bureaucracy. So it's kind of like if you paid $1000 in taxes, you spent $20 on the poor of which they got to keep $18.60, and you spent $166.66 on the military.
SNAP is probably the most effective federal dollar we spend in terms of long term domestic economic outcomes.

that isn’t why you should support it; you should support it because it is a moral imperative to feed the hungry.

but it’s why even a growth-oriented ghoul shouldn’t oppose it.

The no new wars guy seems to be trying real hard to get us into a new war

There is zero reason to send CSG-12 to the Caribbean.

Congratulations to Trump and the GOP Congress - they now own the two longest government shutdowns in history.

You can literally watch Reagan’s words side-by-side with Canada’s ad.

They didn’t misrepresent anything.

Trump is lying. Again. As usual.

The reason they’re trying to break everything so fast is that they know they’re likely in for a historic loss in the midterms (even with their current redistricting bullshit).

Winning state and local elections and getting a House majority (at minimum) is our priority right now.

Right now? Russ Vought failing to ‘dismantle the bureaucracy’

He’s raging because he wasn’t able to just fire everyone like he we wanted to during the shutdown, and I like it when fascists are mad.

I think you’ll see a LOT of people on the GOP side of the aisle start to push back (Vance included) if he tries to stay in office after this term.

They’re leaving whether they want to or not.

The Secret Service will literally drag him out of the building if they have to - not that I expect them to with his current health.

I know the GOP won’t push back on him *now* but they are very much looking forward to getting rid of him, too. 1/2

He seems to have this idea that if we’re in a war, he can invoke wartime powers and take greater control of the government.

Some people are speculating that he’s going to try to stop the midterms due to a war, but that’s not happening - we’ve had elections through every war in our nation’s history

As the economy continues to contract, I expect that approval rating to tank.

Right now, I feel like it’s being artificially propped up by the media largely refusing to hold the administration’s feet to the fire.

He’s already underwater on every issue, so 40% makes no sense.

New from me: I’ve been asked a lot, and I finally had time to put together a short explainer for both the legal and tactical considerations of Trump’s strikes in the Caribbean and Pacific.

Why bother making an actual trade deal when you can just announce a new “framework” every few months and manipulate the markets?
