Middle school kids are learning to be people and part of that is definitely being mean. I’m more referring to how middle school boys are usually depicted as adventurous, mischievous, fun - whereas girls are portrayed negatively. I love the way this movie centers their friendship so positively.
I never say no when my almost-5 wants to watch Turning Red because it is such an affectionate and fun portrayal of middle school girls who are almost always shown in movies as catty, mean, and shallow. I love it and the boy band music just puts it over the edge

It'd be cool if all the people who said they were done with Twitter *a year ago* actually left the platform, instead of still clinging to it for reach, clout, or whatever excuse they have.
They told my generation of Black girls to stop having babies in our teens. They eliminated older forms of welfare. They decimated our communities by creating the PIC. It ruined neighborhoods & families.
Constant propaganda turned us into worker drones. Now they're mad that Black women... work?
The frustrating thing about this is that while families without two working parents CAN make it to evening and weekend classes (but may not prefer them) the reverse is not true. It’s just a fundamental disregard for a common family structure.
I’m not asking for them to reconfigure their entire weekly schedule. I’m sure they have their reasons based around demand and instructor availability. I’m asking for them to throw us a scrap: one weekly option at a reasonable time, which all the dual-income families can then fight over.
The most popular kids’ gym near us is only offering its most popular class at 3:30 pm on weekdays or 8:20 pm on weekends. Society is just so cool about working parents
