"Maria" is rolling up raisins under the hot Madera sun. To earn $70, she has to roll 1,000 sheets! Each row has around 250 sheet. It's hard grueling work walking on the burning sand for hours rolling one sheet after another. #WeFeedYou

"Rafa" is a Merced county farm worker. He does 2 shifts in 2 different jobs as rent is so expensive. He harvests tomatoes in the am. Then he sorts sweet potatoes under a hot sun - working 13 hours total. He worries about driving home because of lack of sleep. #WeFeedYou

Here is a macro photo I took of our last bi-color snapdragon in the front garden. The day was beautifully grey and rainy. Though there was no chance of seeing a tropical sunset, this flower held the might of dusk's glory in its misty face. This scoop of autumn sherbert glows against green peeps of background bokeh. Bending in for a closer look with my camera, I became enchanted by the perfect spheres scattered across its pink-red-orange-yellow petals. Within each crystal ball raindrop, a small universe of color and light. Their augury? My new 3-5-3 haiku:

"Ari" is working in the poblano chilis in Santa Clara County. He explains how workers harvest the chilis, then take their full buckets over to a conveyor belt & dump them on it. The conveyor belt goes up lifting the chilis & "Ari" then directs them into different bins. #WeFeedYou
