Why does Cuomo always look like he's scared and confused.

...hey, y'all wanna see a dead body?
Cuomo’s desperate final act is bankrolled by the very billionaires who brought us Donald Trump and the broken status quo.

New Yorkers are ready for change.

was literally just telling some folks that i thought mamdani was going to break 50%
Bro did everything he could to demonstrate the importance of a peaceful transfer of power and everyone immediately forgot that and now we have senators who've held their position for 40 years. Almost wish I could revive him so he could go knock some sense into their heads.
No Kings In America also means we don't let congressmen hold on to their position for 50+ years. McConnell got elected to the senate 11 years before I was born and I'm 30. That just shouldn't happen. It shouldn't. One of the issues with King George was that he ruled for life.

Just a suggestion that folks refrain from ableism and ageism when discussing Mitch McConnell.

Being old and falling down doesn't make him a trash person, but all the actual trash things he has done and facilitated definitely do.
It all boils down to them wanting to hang on to power. They're scared of becoming irrelevant and love being in power as it means they're important and special, so they refuse to retire even when it's clear they're too old to do their job safely. They probably think Washington was crazy for retiring.
Don't you wanna go home? Travel? Learn new skills and hobbies? Spend quality time with your family? I like being in charge, but even I don't like it so much that I'd spend my twilight years fucking hanging out in the senate or whatever like bro you're rich, go home!!
I guess at the end of the day it just confuses me that someone who had polio as a child and who actually does stand by vaccination is acting like this in regards to their own needs and mortality. Also if I was as rich as these people once I hit 60 I'd retire to a life of luxury. Idk why they don't.
Because if you go your whole life believing disabled people clearly did something wrong and you'll never end up like that since you do everything right...when you inevitably need a mobility aid in your elderly years you'll act like this and make everything worse for yourself.
-a mobility aid but I did because it made my life better, and I didn't have to get over my internalized ableism to do so. Ableism really does hurt abled people by convincing them that so long as they do the right things they'll never become disabled. But it can happen to anyone at any time.
This is why I'm SO glad my mother is disabled bcs I didn't have any of those hangups when it became clear I needed a mobility aid. I never saw it as my life "ending", just changing. And I'm only just turning 30, doctors still think I'm too young to be disabled! I have more of a reason to not want-
Mobility aids are freedom, not a prison. I can walk pretty okay on my own, but I use my wheelchair because it saves me energy and slows down the damage my EDS does to my joints. It also makes me not have to worry about falling. But some people just cannot accept that they've become what they hated.
McConnell's also a good example of old people who've spent their whole lives thinking the disabled are below them, so when they reach an age where a mobility aid would genuinely make their lives so much better and afford them continued independence by slowing down damage...they refuse to touch them.

I've heard it said that you shouldn't speak ill of the dead.

So, I'd like to get it in ahead of time.

Mitch McConnell is a truly awful human who has worked hard to make the US a much worse place. (And much of the rest of the world too, come to think of it.)
I thought the house closed the gov, isn't the senate still doing stuff? Also senators votes don't count in the house so???

KEILAR: If you don't deal with these subsidies, many many people are going to see their costs increase

HARIODOPOLOS: We are willing to have the debate

KEILAR: You're not in session! How can you debate if you're not in session?

HARIODOPOLOS: All they have to do is open the government

That’s some peak cynicism about trying to “make sure people don’t die ..”
Mike Johnson: "Let me predict what Sen. Kelly is gonna say on the show. He's gonna give you a long, impassioned speech about healthcare and how the subsidies are so important to make sure people don't die and all of this. Let me tell you something. This is not a healthcare fight."
I will caution people joking about McConnell using a wheelchair to remember that being in a wheelchair does not mean you're unfit for office. The problem with McConnell is that he's too old, not that he can't walk on his own.

Yesterday was the Q3 FEC deadline. That means we found out how much money my opponents raised and who donated to them.

So how did we do? Well…

Between the fat “jokes,” and thinking photoshops of men in makeup and dresses is a sick burn, dude like it’s the 90’s, and homophobic insinuations as insults, some “progressives” haven’t really made all that much progress since middle school.
There’s more than enough to say about actual policies.

Fresh off his minimizing of violence against women, Mike Johnson is now belittling a woman who was elected to Congress and saying she’s too stupid to know what’s going on.
FOX: Grijalva says you're afraid of her being the 218th signer to the Epstein petition, that if she was a Republican you would've sworn her in. What do you say?

MIKE JOHNSON: I say bless her heart. She's a representative-elect, she doesn't know how it works around here.

For me it over takes LWD just in the sense that there is a chunk of eps between the middle of s2 and the end of s3 that I just thought were all really bad. The show recovered beautifully (only to get canceled ofc bcs god hates me) but Prodigy is a no-skip series. Every episode was good.
