Posting this got me in a Fakemon mood and since I’ve decided Fire is actually probably the best type to pair with Bug from a balance standpoint out of the three traditional starter types, here are the two (2) final stages of a glowworm-inspired Fire/Bug starter line!

A plump, wormlike Pokémon, listed with the following descriptive text:

“Fire/Bug starter” T3♀
(Glowworm/Firefly; larviform female)
Slower, but hardier than males. Specialized in Fire over Bug moves.

In addition, there are the following labels pointing to the relevant parts of the design:
—Torch-like antennae.
—Lightly-armored thorax.
—Soft, round abdomen/belly.
—End of abdomen spits fire & string.
—Patterns & rings glow.

A dynamic, wasp-like Pokémon, listed with the following descriptive text:

“Fire/Bug starter” T3♂
(Glowworm/Firefly; larviform female)
Faster, but frailer than females. Specialized in Bug over Fire moves.

In addition, the following labels from the female’s design also apply to the male’s:
—Torch-like antennae.

i struggle with a brain that wants to stiffly copy whatever reference i'm using and one thing i've found helpful:
1. draw big blocky shapes over the reference
2. turn off ref and redraw big blocky shapes
3. draw in figure with big blocky shapes overlaid

In leaked Gamefreak documents Pokemon gen 8 was originally going to be prehistoric themed and wait a second, thats my old T. rex artwork?? What the hell thats so cool???

Screenshot of design documents for Pokemon gen 8 discussing prehistoric animals. To the side there is a small squished version of my old fluffy T. rex drawing used to demonstrate the animal for this document. I have no idea why this specific rex I did took off but it was never meant to be an accurate one even at the time, folks just latched onto it and it haunts me.
