lowercasejai.bsky.social
god damn that’s cool
lowercasejai.bsky.social
this one is so cool, it really shows how out there the original OP is in terms of animation
lowercasejai.bsky.social
holy shit that sounds INCREDIBLE
lowercasejai.bsky.social

does anyone know any other games that do this? i seriously love this sort of stuff lol

i'm not a huuuuge anime guy but one thing i'll never get sick of seeing is when games try recreate anime OPs in engine. i love the look of trying to recreate a 2D aesthetic using 3D assets and moving sprites. it's so cool seeing what they choose to keep or change. this is Cowboy Bebop's on the PS2
lowercasejai.bsky.social
oooh fair enough, that does make sense
lowercasejai.bsky.social
i wonder if the local multiplayer aspect was part of it too then, it’s way easier to do Goku vs Vegeta with a friend in a style like that
lowercasejai.bsky.social
why did manga/anime/shonen fighting games go from being beat em ups to arena fighters?

it makes complete sense why Ultraman became a long-running series and Ultra Q didn't. because one has a dude wrestling!!
lowercasejai.bsky.social
finally finished the original '66 Ultraman after slowly watching it for 15 months! man they really figure out what makes the show work so well by the end. i think this might be the greatest children's entertainment show in existence. i would've been eating good if i saw this as a youth
lowercasejai.bsky.social
this looks nuts LMAO
lowercasejai.bsky.social
can someone PLEASE make an Ace Combat game where you play as Ultraman

David Simon, creator of ‘The Wire’, being interviewed by Ari Shapiro (NPR)
SHAPIRO: OK, so you've spent your career creating television without Al, and I could imagine today you thinking, boy, I wish I had had that tool to solve those thorny problems...
SIMON: What?
SHAPIRO: ...Or saying...
SIMON: You imagine that?
SHAPIRO: ...Boy, if that had existed, it would have screwed me over.
SIMON: I don't think Al can remotely challenge what writers do at a fundamentally creative level.
SHAPIRO: But if you're trying to transition from scene five to scene six, and you're stuck with that transition, you could imagine plugging that portion of the script into an Al and say, give me 10 ideas for how to transition this.
SIMON: I'd rather put a gun in my mouth.
