One of the hardest parts of promoing my novella is that it's a trans self-discovery story. And despite recognizing who I am, I also don't feel like I belong as much as trans/enby authors who have been writing for so much longer and so much better than me. Their books deserve love.

My publisher’s been very patient. I’m not doing everything I said I’d do to promote this book (out in a few weeks) because I’m an organizer in a city under federal attack. My days are full and emotionally exhausting. Any help getting the word out means a lot. It's a book people need right now.

#latenightwrite I always come back to "weapon" by Against the Current for my MC Jude's personality. A lil bit emo, sure, but she was recruited into the Consilium for her Faerie powers, as a weapon, and she kind of bought into the idea about herself.

Watermyth is too cozy and soft for the edgy crowd, and too edgy/spikey for the cozy crowd. What even are labels anyway. Honey and arsenic, soft velvet and stilleto edges, warmth and companionship in fragrant kitchens and byzantine statescraft in darkened towers.
