Produced by Graeme MacDonald, who would go on to be controller of BBC2, Robin Redbreast was broadcast on 10 December 1970. The original colour version has been lost and only a black and white version remains.

On this day in 1940 the BBC’s London headquarters, Broadcasting House, was hit by a huge bomb dropped by the Luftwaffe. Seven died and there was huge destruction.

Using oral history accounts and documents from the BBC’s own archives, I’ve tried to piece together how events unfolded that night

England U21 game was bad. One of the worst matches I've ever seen. Never again. ~9,500 at Pride Park. Andorra did very well to be honest.

Two days of fever dreams and a bonus nightmare that I was still working at Hansons 😂😴

At one point in the Hansons dream a man walked past me as I was sat at the PC. Looked at me as if he was disgusted. Very odd behaviour I thought.
