1/ Happiest of birthdays to Tom Hamilton, Cleveland Guardians play-by-play announcer --and 2025 Ford C. Frick honoree for his contributions to the game. (There's also a small shoutout to Jim "The Old Rosebud" Rosenhaus, his partner in the radio booth.) #GuardsBall ⚾🎂🎉
A hand-drawn baseball card depicting Cleveland Guardians' radio play-by-play announcer Tom "Hammy" Hamilton as an cheerful anthropomorphic pig in a radio booth at a stadium. (He is, of course, part of the "All-Farm Team.") On his right is a vase with a single rosebud.

This is Chop. He was shot and killed by masked assailants in plain clothes who go by ICE. They showed up at his door "looking for migrants after receiving a tip." The son of the family asked if they could wait before entering the home while he put Chop away in the bathroom, as the dog can be aggressive with strangers.
According to the family, it is at this point that the son went to his pickup truck to retrieve his ID and a Border Patrol agent entered the home, opened the bathroom door, and shot Chop. None of the agents helped the family, who desperately tried to render aid to Chop, as he bled to death on the kitchen floor. Unsurprisingly, the agent who shot their dog then hid from them and refused to give his name. Even more unsurprising, they did not find any evidence of the migrants they were there to terrorize in the first place.
Do not open your door for these fucking losers. Rest easy Chop

But if you're irked at the notion of acquiring an esoteric ingredient for one (1) recipe which will then sit in your cabinet unused for the next 10 years, I *completely* get it. 🙂

If your qualm is about availability, I'll note that, at least in the US, pink Himalayan salt has become available at a surprisingly wide array of 'everyday' retail outlets -- Target, Walmart, even a few CVS stores! (cont'd)

The president (or maybe not president) of Madagascar—a radio DJ who overthrew the island’s yogurt kingpin in a coup d’état—just fled the country in a French helicopter after Gen Z protests. I wrote about the most interesting island you know nothing about, with bonus pictures of me with lemurs:
The yogurt kingpin, the radio DJ coup, and the most interesting island on Earth
Madagascar is a fascinating island home to 30+ million people. It's also home to bizarre, volatile politics that virtually nobody knows about. And the president just escaped on a helicopter.

Costumes have been worn as political symbols for decades, but animal outfits have become especially popular at anti-ICE demonstrations in Portland, Oregon.

ICE secretly kidnap autistic boy during bathroom break—never notify parents.

Mother reported him missing a week ago—turns out ICE had him detained the whole time.

He was helping sell fruit and asked to go to the restroom—by the time she was done helping a customer he was gone.

We all have been blessed for years by the friendship and camaraderie of Clay Jones, one our most gifted and madly hilarious artists . . . and favorite people.
A stroke this week has set him back. Please consider chipping in to help in his recovery. Thanx.

Remember when Stephen Miller claimed the Chicago apartment raid was on a building “filled with Tren de Aragua terrorists”?

Well, DHS has now dropped the number of alleged TdA members arrested in the building from 2 to 1.
Just one "verified" Tren de Aragua member and one U.S. citizen with an active warrant were among the 37, DHS said, without saying how it had verified that gang affiliation. Others taken that day, the agency said, were "illegal aliens."

Unless and until some kind of compelling legal and moral argument is presented as to why this is a legitimate use of deadly force, this is just…mass murder.

Indiana University fires IDS
adviser amid push to control
student newspaper's content The director of student media at Indiana University was fired amidst a dispute between university leadership and editors at the Indiana Daily Student over what content gets printed in the student newspaper.

As director of student media, Jim Rodenbush did not directly oversee or have any say over the content published in the IDS, per a charter between the IDS and the university. But he told IndyStar his firing follows a series of meetings with IU Media School leadership in which it grew increasingly apparent they were expecting him to officially prohibit students from publishing news.

JD Vance can dismiss the Young Republicans as a college group chat.

But let's be clear: the group chat includes a State Senator, a Trump Admin official, and multiple Republican staffers — and some of the worst comments came from folks associated with Mike Johnson, Elise Stefanik, and Mike Lawler.

The official government account for DHS appears to be run by far-right trolls deliberately trying to provoke a response by using a term openly associated with ethnic cleansing. They will attack anyone who points this out and express faux outrage at the suggestion. They know what they are doing.
Remigration Wikipedia Page.

Not to be confused with Return migration.
Remigration is an originally European far-right proposal of ethnic cleansing via the mass deportation of non-white immigrants and their descendants, sometimes including those born in Europe, to their place of racial ancestry.
It is popular especially within the Identitarian movement. Some proponents of remigration suggest excluding some persons with non-European background from such a mass deportation, based on a varyingly defined degree of assimilation into European culture.

Is she talking about the young children missing because her goon squad dragged them naked & crying from their apartment complex or the 15-yr old girl they tackled & threw into an unmarked van the other day?
