Flashback to printing these to benefit the Southside Community Art Center (an initiative of the Chicago Printers Guild), featuring lyrics by Peter Cottontale & Chance the Rapper.
Long horizontal white print with images of the city and gardens with lyrics that say ‘I pray for vision I pray for vision I pray for weapons against the system’

We’re at the “liberal white home owners have professionally designed yard signs warning about ICE” stage of outrage in Chicago.
A yard sign with Spanish text explaining a person’s rights if stopped by ICE. There’s a white picket fence in the background. A yard sign with Spanish text explaining a person’s rights if stopped by ICE. The sign is among plants and flowers in a front yard.

Perry: "Chicago's history of strained policing community relations is extremely well documented, but also fairly nuanced. It's something I think state and local authorities understand extremely well, and it can be hard for federal authorities, and certainly those from Texas, to appreciate."

ICE is not only chasing down every random brown person in Chicago, they have a cameraman following them to film this for social media. Cruelty and inhumanity as content.

Dasha Ramirez, 8, and her little brother were playing with the water at the Crown Fountain in Chicago’s Millennium Park when federal agents approached their parents.

She ran toward her father, Jaime Ramirez, who was suddenly surrounded by a group of heavily armed agents in full camouflage.
Mother, children detained by ICE at Millennium Park Sunday held at O’Hare with other families: ‘We never imagined’
The mother said she felt her family was targeted because of their appearance. “There were a lot more people there, but the agents came directly to us because of how we look,” she said.

I mean, this Chicago common brick mortar is a crime but otherwise…
A wall of red, light red, and mottled cream bricks with the globby mortar missing or falling out.

(The quote is generally attributed to Sinclair Lewis. The print was made as a guide for specific type lock-ups and pattern printing. Making paper out of flags and bibles is sorta my dad’s wheelhouse.)

For years I’ve had this brilliant print by my dad (in 2007!) and every time I look at it I’m like, hoo boy yeah. And now I’m like fuckityfuckfuck.
A grey-ish paper with wavy borders with the phrase “Beware the fascists they will be wrapped in flags and carrying bibles” printed in light colors with wood and metal typefaces. Colophon
This page was printed on the artist's shaped, variable, handmade paper which contains rag fibers including American flag pieces, Bible pages, and cotton half stuff and linter. Unnamed wood types and Alternate Gothic were printed on top of two low-relief gel medium Sandragraph textures. The map and the instructions on this side were printed from polymer relief plates. The image side has 9 colors and 8 runs, count 'em. Printed by John Risseeuw at his Cabbagehead Press May, 2007. Of an edition of 100, this is A/P
