I would rather live next to a hundred undocumented immigrants than one ICE officer.
It is NOT the case that if a person is suffering, they must have done something evil to deserve it.

Rather: Allowing others to suffer needlessly is the true evil. Therefore we must do everything possible to alleviate that suffering.

Now go read some damn Peter Singer.

Trump building himself a new gold-plated ballroom at the White House shows what he really cares about - which is definitely not you.
The president would rather starve children than release the Epstein files.

BREAKING NEWS: We’re suing the Trump administration for illegally suspending SNAP benefits.

Approximately 1 in 6 Oregonians receive SNAP benefits, including more than 214,000 children and 130,000 older adults.
As an affordable grocery retailer, Walmart receives about 25% of all SNAP dollars spent by recipients of the benefit.

Not only do they get their employees' labor at less than a living wage, but Walmart gets to benefit from the aid provided to those workers because they are paid so little.
The Walton family (who own Walmart) are worth over $400 billion, yet many of their employees are on SNAP.

Bezos is worth over $400 billion, many Amazon employees require SNAP.

The people who need help are not the problem.

It’s corporate greed. It’s an unwillingness to pay a living wage.

What did people do before SNAP?”

They died.

Healthcare, vaccines, disability support, education & food assistance are vital to our survival.

They’re why the average lifespan isn’t 35 anymore

The mark of a good & decent society is whether it sees the value in helping others.

Oregonians and people across the country should not go hungry because the Trump administration refuses to act. There IS a Congressionally approved contingency fund available to prevent a lapse in SNAP benefits, but Donald Trump's USDA would rather let the American people go hungry. 🧵
Federal food aid will not go out starting Nov. 1 amid government shutdown, Trump administration says
The USDA notice comes after the Trump administration said it would not tap roughly $5 billion in contingency funds to keep benefits through SNAP.

When the president is destroying national landmarks, murdering fishermen, raising prices because he's angry over a Reagan video, and kidnapping parents in front of their crying children is probably not an ideal time to have a lazy, completely incompetent legislative branch perpetually on vacation.

WIC and SNAP funding will end.
This isn’t a “problem”..this is going to be a FAMINE.

Let that sink in.
In seven days about 13% of the country won't be able to afford food.

That is an emergency.

But don't worry, Trump is building a ballroom about it.
Hey remember when Biden was president and we could actually allow ourselves to relax for five minutes???

I miss that.
