Nothing in the FOIA says agencies can close a request after three days just because they feel like it.
In August the Energy Dept sent a mass still interested letter to FOIA requesters, basically making it much easier to close out a bunch of old requests.

Obviously I filled a FOIA request about it.

Energy just told me I have 3 days to narrow my request or they are closing it.

Lolol uh no.

Today Ilham Tohti spends another birthday unjustly incarcerated because he wrote about Uyghur human rights. In 2014 Chinese authorities sentenced the #FreedomToWrite Awardee to life in prison.

We continue to call for his unconditional release.

In Canada.
Phang: One man has single-handedly disenfranchised 813,000 voters in the state of Arizona, all because he wants to kiss the ass of convicted felon Donald Trump.

The private detention centers ICE contracts with to hold thousands of people — including journalists it arrests — shouldn’t be off-limits to FOIA requests.

Use our action center to tell your member of Congress: FOIA should apply to private facilities.

Carney: "We can't control the trade policy of the US. We recognize it has fundamentally changed from the policy in the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, & it's a situation where US has tariffs against every trading partner... what we we can control is developing new partnerships, including w/econ giants of Asia"

In the midst of a federal government shutdown, the U.S. government’s gross national debt surpassed $38 trillion Wednesday.
It’s also the fastest accumulation of a trillion dollars in debt outside of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Conservatism at it’s finest 🙄🤡‼️

34 people killed in 50 days. Their guilt or innocence unknown, for an alleged crime that doesn't carry a death sentence. That's a lot of death.

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL CAPS LOCK DAY SORRY FOR OUR DELAY WE DIDN'T EVEN KNOW THIS WAS A REAL DAY.
(Mandatory UK descendants’ allusion to royals having kids with their cousins goes here, and hat tip to History of France and Russian Royals, where ‘sick of it’ in hindsight would be an um an understatement)
been reading a lot of medieval English history recently and it's instructive as to why the Anglo political tradition evolved away from monarchy. every 4th king or so would turn out to be a murderous lunatic, people got sick of it
it is kind of interesting how not only do they openly yearn for monarchy, but they also want a system of monarchy more absolute than almost any of the historical reference points where the president can tax, spend, declare war, even suspend habeas corpus at will

The expected double-talk. The sky is green. All sentiment contrary to our kleptocracy’s grim/varied aims is the rise of an imaginary threat we can further predate and personally profit by.

Propaganda: heaven forbid we take the free expression thing to heart. That WOULD be functioning democracy!
