An occasional series of what my Garmin watch is saying after my #HeartBypass.

Started wearing it again about 2 weeks after the op. The watch is basically going “Dude! WTF?”

I need more rest and seem permanently stressed? Ya think? My resting heart rate is higher. Really?

Just received proof copy of The Ghost Camera. It's science fiction set now, (contains no ghosts.)
Meant to be published by Unbound but they went backrupt, folks who supported the book were left with nothing. (me too)
I'm printing these so everyone who supported the book will get a signed copy, soon.
Close up of me, Robert, holding a copy of my new book, The Ghost Camera. And yes, there will be an audio version eventually.
OMG that’s terrifying.

Hope you’re better now.
Will have to find someone peckish.
I’ll eat my liver if it isn’t great!

Oh, I was naive enough to connect iCloud to OneDrive. In theory, all my photos automatically get backed up and I can see them on the PC. In theory.

In practice, it’s like asking the bully who shoves your head down the toilet to work together with the bully who steals your lunch.
Oh they do, and then your client complains that you’re not using their corporate colour scheme.

Excel for Windows apparently has a setting under File Info to prevent charts changing their colours.

My search history has now also gone beige, it’s so boring.
True, but you don’t have to switch to PowerPoint to set up a new colour theme.

That was particularly mind-boggling.

Excel for Mac is like permanently having Jim Bowen looking at your broken spreadsheet saying „here’s how it could have worked“.
So, trying to stop colours changing in an Excel sheet on Mac.

I imagine the Microsoft development meeting went like this:

- boss, we could set it up like on Windows, so users can manage colours consistently and reliably.

- no. Punish them.

A friend kept getting sick. I said it might be repeated COVID infections.
He laughed — “You think everything is COVID”
Then added, “Everyone’s been sick lately — it’s normal now”

That’s not normal. That’s what years of COVID denial have done.

INCREDIBLE clip.

<Richard Holden MP shouts like an angry man in a pub>

Lisa Nandy: "Can you calm down a bit, mate? You're shouting like an angry man in a pub."

Richard Holden: "That's not fair."

<continues to shout like an angry man in a pub>

I’m seeing pieces and posts today about how useful digital ID could be in navigating bureaucracy etc. Yes. It would. That, however, is *not* how the government tried to sell it to us. Instead, they portrayed it as a tool to stop illegal working and curb illegal immigration. 1/4

My new piece about Nathan Gill and Nigel Farage for @thenerve_news in which we ask:

Why, even now, is no-one asking questions?

Did wonder why there was no reference to chocolate on the packaging.
