Anyway this changes little about the fact that capitalism must be destroyed and socialism must be built. Thank you

For some reason Krist Novoselic was always standing in the back of their shows with a camcorder, guess he just wanted to support underappreciated local bands after Nirvana ended

These guys had a song in a scene of the Tank Girl movie but it didn't make the soundtrack, and they played Conan once in its very early days, but they never really made it out of Seattle. Loved their live shows though, real formative stuff for teenage Jonathan

At its core, the obsession with robots, rocket ships, Martian colonies and artificial intelligence has always been less about economics or human advancement and more about incels creating safe spaces for unlimited sex with beautiful android women while they relegate chads to beta status.

None of my "come get me" notes are surviving into the time travel era. This could mean bad news for us all, poor note placement, or perhaps the future simply doesn't want me.

If my inbox is any indication there are literally dozens of purported solutions to the problem of induction standing ready to be refuted, if only we would fund the humanities properly

Maybe this is simply a difference in the expected 'rate' of knew knowledge, but this take puzzles me, because there's quite a bit of new data and studies needing to be done that I can see pretty easily in Roman history.

Knowledge creation steady and clearly visible.
A tweet by Theo Nash, which reads, "The problem is that (almost) no one, at least in the humanities, is able to produce ‘new knowledge’ at anything like the rate expected. So scholars grasp at faddish trends and voguish theories to publish books that seem exciting in the moment but have no enduring value."

Well the problem is that Windows is actively working to shove adware BS down peoples throat. That's what's making the Linux devotees louder than before.

University governance is broken, and it’s breaking people.

University governance and associated regulatory structures assume the most powerful senior office holders will behave in accordance with the high standards benefiting their station.

I still think the most accurate and consistent way to think about generative AI is that, in every instance, people exclusively use it for tasks that they don't have any respect for or give a shit about.
