My local protest. I could only be there in spirit, alas.
East Cobb making me proud! Kids had a blast honking the horn and waving out the windows. 7yo said it was so much fun!
I would have been with you if I wasn't out of town, but I was there in spirit

Well, Jay finally has a couple of promising leads for a local job, but even if he were to start tomorrow it’s at 2-4 weeks before there is actual income.

He started doing DoorDash and is waiting to be approved for InstaCart but it’s not enough. #fairshare.help

The Immigration Court of Appeals just ordered Mario Guevara to be deported.
I gathered up my courage & submitted a short story in the Littleton Chronicles universe to the JordanCon 2026 anthology. It's the first such submission I've made. Here's hoping it gets chosen!
So book 4 of the Littleton Chronicles now has a title, Shìzú, and is at 80K words. My goal of publishing by Multiverse Con is optimistic, but I think I can hit it if I bust my ass and just do it. Besides, I think the bulk of the hard part is written (I HOPE).

Crime is falling in most big cities at surprising rates, but both Atlanta and Baltimore are something else.

This story for Atlanta Magazine - the finest thing I may have ever written - looked at the rise in Atlanta. I need to match this energy as it recedes.

The source of violent crime in Atlanta isn’t mysterious: It’s desperation, born by inequality.
We just need to be willing to see it, writes George Chidi.

Trump is going to massively increase crime in the US.

1 He's busy crashing the economy. Desperate people get inventive and stress increases violence.

2 He is defunding housing first and violence prevention programs that actually work in favor of shows of force that don't. 1/x

The narrative circulating about D.C. among conservatives is that the city has been cooking the books on crime statistics.

The National Incident-Based Reporting System uses a standardized model for reporting crime, and it shows crime falling in the city, hard.

reminder that the 'read & return' lifehack actively harms authors, especially self published authors.
Also please consider that
1 Libraries exist and are free
2 Authors will not continue writing books you like if they aren't making any money or think it doesn't sell

Authors are protesting Amazon's e-book policy that allows users to read and return
Authors say readers are exploiting Amazon's seven-day return policy by using Amazon like a library and returning books after reading them.
