Love to sit normally and casually
The LeBron 2.0 era was when I kinda got radicalized as a sports fan because so much of that period was tense and angst-ridden. And you knew so much of the regular season was totally irrelevant and not worth enjoying because it all came down to the playoffs.
As a Cavs fan, I remember watching the series when Victor Oladipo pushed LeBron to the brink and actually being a little jealous of Pacers fans
One thing I've noticed about getting older as a sports fan is that I have a new and growing appreciation for exhausting max-effort teams. I have disliked the Indiana Pacers longer than just about any pro sports team but I really respect how annoying they are.
Getting Julia Fox for an episode of “Elsbeth”
As a draft prospect, McCarthy was one of those “if you say so” guys where enough people praised him so I believed it. Zach Wilson was like that too
I didn’t believe this until I saw Wentz walking through the tunnel with one of those shoulder braces on his left arm. They’re throwing him out there with a bum arm while JJ McCarthy is still recovering from an ankle injury
JJ McCarthy was benched and the Vikings can’t bring themselves to say it
Seeing the NBA/FanDuel commercials in light of recent events

I think it was on the Totally Football pod when one of the panelists talked about all of the extra steps Arsenal and other clubs are required to take when they have kids this young around the first team. And it really drove home how much added care is required in these situations.
I'm glad the Dallas Wings are thinking outside the box and hiring a first-time WNBA head coach
LeBron coming out to his retirement press conference wearing one of those foam neck braces
It would be really funny if LeBron James' back trouble suddenly progressed to become career-ending
If we're being honest, I think it's also good in the bigger picture that Staley wasn't hired. I don't know how anybody successfully navigates the transition away from Damian Lillard. And if Staley does poorly, the loudest and dumbest voices would've screeched about how women can't coach in the NBA.
At the risk of downplaying the significance of Staley coaching in the NBA, she dodged a bullet on that one. I wouldn't wish the Blazers job on my worst enemy.
Remember when Dawn Staley interviewed for that Trail Blazers job
Look, it was worth it to tell Damon to his face that he was no Daniel Gibson

This is one of the many features in the last CBA that made me wonder how much the WNBPA had the right lawyers
People don't seem to understand that 2021 was a different time with different standards. Nobody knew homophobia was bad four years ago.
SCOOP: Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner apologized for homophobic language and antigay slurs he admitted to writing on Reddit in an interview with me this afternoon, after I confronted him on comments I discovered from as recently as 2021.

Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner admits using ‘indefensible’ antigay slurs in unearthed Reddit posts
"Today I find that stuff abhorrent," Platner told The Advocate. "And I am sorry that I ever used it.”

A comparison that came to mind yesterday was how Maryland initially tried to circle the wagons around DJ Durkin. The school jeopardized its morals for a coach who wasn't even that good. Graham Platner is just some guy who decided to run for Senate.
Something the "oh, are we supposed to permanently cancel every young man with a Nazi tattoo?" crowd didn't think through was that there's a good chance more damning stuff comes out about this guy
I can't believe he's basically trying to play the cancel culture card over a Nazi tattoo
