Interesting that the sceptics have now fully moved from “it doesn’t work” to “it’s a bubble”.

(It probably is a bubble! But who cares? There’s been a fundamental breakthrough and it will drive the build-out of compute and energy infrastructure.)

Everyone agrees that we're currently in a dotcom era-like AI bubble. People disagree what sort of bubble it is.

There are 3 stories one can tell about the dotcom crash: a startup story, a telecom story, and an accounting fraud story.

My take: it's giving Enron

Be sceptical of anyone who says they know how the current US administration policy will develop, but China hawks might be circling around open science policy.

This is a new thing that I’m trying out for a few months with some very smart people. We would love it if you would come along, tell us what you think and say hi.

I can't wait to listen to this. As a Man of Kent, I read the book immediately after hearing part 1. I have subsequently bought All the Devils Are Here for several friends, my Dad, the son of a colleague of David Seabrook, and the ED of Turner Contemporary in Margate. It is a completely unique book.

I will be having a ventepølse during my Norwegian lesson tmrw.
adamcsharp.bsky.social
In Swedish, a word for what you eat to bridge the gap between meals (or while waiting for the main course to cook) is stödmacka. It means "support sandwich."

A similar word in Norwegian is ventepølse, or "waiting sausage."

🚨 THIS IS NOT A DRILL 🚨

We’ve just seen this, by creator “Menapian” - a 4,998-piece set of the Great Exhibition (1851) Crystal Palace - complete with a bonus Megalosaurus and Ichthyosaur…
