I have a lot of books about ghosts and hauntings on my shelves. So, as we countdown to Halloween 2025, I'm going to pick a book and a ghost/haunting from that book and post a little bluesky sized summary of that on here.

13) CRAZY MARY'S HOLE
The cliffs near Pakefield beach (Lowestoft) are walked by the ghost of a woman named Mary. Driven mad with grief when her lover was lost at sea, she wandered the cliffs in life, and continues to do so. The gully in which she died is known as Crazy Mary's Hole.

12) HEADLESS HORSEMAN
A headless horseman haunts the district between Castle Street (Dumfries) and the riverside. This is the ghost of young Macmilligan who literally lost his head to a young girl. Pursued by her brothers he fled on horseback but failed to see a low bough.

Magic always exists in a cultural context because believers in it are never free from their point in time and space. Yet the cultural context of magic also comes from distant places and periods. We embrace this paradox to explore practices that are simultaneously modern and cave-old. - Dr. M. Benn

Remember when that president had a fully consensual extra marital affair in the White House? Career ending. No president could ever behave that way!

It's terrifying that shit like this doesn't even surprise us or really even get commented on any more. 20 years ago this, like many if the things Trump says every day, would be career ending. Would disgrace someone's name forever. Now it's just... yeah, he always says things like that.

Trump, speaking in the Israeli parliament, boasts about the weapons the U.S. has provided and says "you obviously used them very well."

Hey freelancers, it's about one month from the time when you can submit those invoices in order to get paid before christmas. So,if you haven't already, it might be a good idea to start planning backwards from that. Sorry, but I hope that helps someone.

According to Facebook, 3 years ago today I finished writing my 50th novel.

I am now in the middle of my 60th. 😊

There is a story of a widow woman & her daughters, Snow White & Rose Red, the most darling little girls who had ever lived.

This is not—quite—that story.
