And that’s one of hundreds or thousands of car finance companies. Not to mention all the other types of lending these companies do. The whole fucking thing rests on jacking up prices on things we need so we stay in debt paying them off with interest.

The finance company I have now (my loan has been sold twice since 2021 also…which is a different convo) claims 500,000 active accounts. If they average $1K per year in interest margin…$500M a year.

I’ve had my truck since 2021 and I still have almost two years left to pay.

I financed a bit more than $17K and I’ll end up having paid over $23K in payments by the time I’m done.

So they clear about $6K on me. Sure, $6K over the course of six years doesn’t sound like much but multiply that.
