That’s the thing. I am actually optimistic about the Eagles 2026 and beyond. It’s only the 2025 Eagles with the coaching staff configured the way it is that I’m not optimistic about.

I'd describe this article as wrong in several discrete and obvious ways while also eliding the subject who is not getting the benefit of the doubt in a way that undermines the ability to address the actual question it poses.

Every time Sirianni earns a little bit of autonomy everything instantly goes to shit. Something to think about.

Think you got it. These guys aren’t very bright. I’ve got nothing more to add.

Dave Roberts is not a good manager

I just saw Dave Roberts climb to the top step and say "Treinen?"

Might be a Nick Sirianni and Shane Steichen/Kellen Moore parallel here

On the Caleb Cotham question, I keep wondering why just giving him Topper’s job never got much traction, if he’s getting future manager buzz.
joekearns.bsky.social
Pretty confident he’s nowhere close to $50 million in what it would cost

Normally, the head coach is the one whose job is to contain the disease of me after a winning a championship. Instead, the head coach is the singular most damning example of the disease of me.

It's really the paying customers they have to keep him from fighting.

The tell to me that this Eagles season was going to keep devolving into new lows was Lane going public with what he thinks about the offense, instead of keeping it in-house the way he did in 2021 and 2024

I, for one, am extremely reassured by having a head coach who needs to be physically restrained from fighting his own players by the head of security

Always a great look when a player decides to randomly retire mid-season!

Veteran pass rusher Za’Darius Smith has retired, he announced.

Not joking, either

1968 - Vietnam (Chennault Affair)
1980 - Iran (hostage crisis resolved 20 minutes after Reagan inaugurated)
2016 - Russia (hacking)
2024 - Israel

Resetting the "years since Republican party coordinates with foreign country to manufacture crisis for incumbent Democrat" sign to zero, for the fourth (?!) time

I’d be very interested in who’d be on his staff. He should be able to put together a loaded one with everywhere he’s been.

Bit surprised the Kevin Patullo as Nick’s version of Press Taylor hasn’t been described in those terms more

Justin Herbert timed his Highlight of the Week (limit: 1) well this week!

I don’t think Nick Sirianni is going to be the Penn State coach
joekearns.bsky.social
I don’t have a strong feeling either way about Rhule per se. He’s improved every college team he’s taken over, so I don’t think he’d be a bad hire. But I’d hate for the search to be so singularly focused on one candidate.
joekearns.bsky.social
Get rid of Sirianni and Topper too. And Doc Rivers again somehow if that’s possible. Let’s do a total purge.
joekearns.bsky.social
Still think it’ll be Rhule though

The Joe Jinx strikes again
joekearns.bsky.social
Feels too obvious that Matt Rhule is the next head coach if Penn State actually moves on (still skeptical they will)
