Gonna be less smart than John and just say this claim is bullshit. No integrity from this mayor.
We all know the feeling of maxing out the text message space on our phone and having to delete them all — routinely.

The mayor routinely deletes “a lot” of his text messages, Peters said, saying he's allowed to delete those that are transitory. The mayor uses just one cell phone – his personal one, she said, and "that's a lot to have on a phone" if he didn't routinely delete some of them.

Mayor Frey is an enigma. On one hand, the most honorable mayor in America. Loves his city more than his ideology. But also thinks we're all dumb enough to believe his phone routinely gets so full of texts he must delete conversations with his police chief.

Political group accuses Frey of improperly deleting texts. Some advocates and media lawyers agree.
The Minneapolis city attorney’s office says Mayor Jacob Frey is in compliance with the state transparency laws.

If I’m reading Kyle right, Frey admits failing to issue 100 housing vouchers *that are funded this year because he wants to kill the program next year.* (This is not Stable Schools, but for single folks.) This is unallotment Trump-style, especially since county/MPHA are in.
Friction point: In August, to remedy Stable Homes Stable Schools' $3.2 million projected shortfall, Frey proposed canceling another promising anti-homelessness initiative to provide 100
emergency housing vouchers for chronically unsheltered individuals and families. • Many City Council members believe this is needed just as urgently, and the council earmarked the funding last year to revive the pandemic-era program "that had incredibly successful outcomes at long-term housing stability," Ward 2 representative Robin Wonsley
wrote in a newsletter. Yes, but: No vouchers have been issued yet, so Frey administration officials decided it would be irresponsible to begin a new anti-homelessness initiative - promising though it may be - with
an existing program short on funds.
Ahhh my bad - I guess my brain was in the “Frey so bad that ranking 3 candidates above is easy choice” space which wasn’t helpful :)
Or just ask them to read his 2017 promises and ask if they think he has achieved them after 8 years or not
We just did part one of telling the Frey story on the podcast, with two people who had to work with him for like 12 hears. But if they don’t have 1.5 hours, check out the @hsilsbee.bsky.social links on our episode page millcityhall.com/episodes/202...
Mill City Hall: The Story of Jacob Frey, Part 1
millcityhall.com
Has anyone ever been hotter than Bad Bunny while also kinda having a “I’m just a little stinker” face?
New episode! We try to tell the story of Jacob Frey, from candidate to city councilmember to mayor to successful disaster: millcityhall.com

Come for the analysis, stay for the stories about bloody nipples, the BAC, and “why is IF capitalized?”

This is part 1 - expect part 2 next week

That does horrible things to a community, to people's ability to function. There are families who haven't left their homes in weeks, relying on networks of trust to bring them essentials. Kids staying home from school, fear about every unknown car on the block. And those fears are not unfounded.
Yeah, sigh, like if you have your ultra effective anti fascist action just go and do it. I don’t see anyone arguing “the only way is inflatable costumes!!!” so who is this person arguing against
Emmer continues to not have “an interest in solutions”

‘Republican U.S. Rep. Tom Emmer … spoke to reporters: “This is about one thing and one thing alone — to score political points with the terrorist wing of their party, which is set to hold a hate America rally in DC next week.’
Great, anodyne example of the press in failure mode. There is no evidence, none, that Tom Emmer "[has] an interest in being part of a solution." This is like asking "doesn't the jaguar have an interest in preventing face eating?" Emmer has embraced his role as an obedient MAGA attack dog.
Text from Rochelle Olson column reads: Jeers to U.S. Rep. Tom Emmer

The majority whip gratuitously revived a revolting city nickname, “Murderapolis,” for the state’s largest and most significant city. Emmer could have taken a respite from blind obsequiousness to the president and offered his assistance to leaders on the ground in his home state. Instead, he headed over to Fox News and then social media for yet another trashing of Minnesota DFL politicians who were going through a rough couple of weeks. As the No. 3 in the U.S. House, doesn’t Emmer have an interest and even some sway in being part of a solution beyond angry and increasingly tedious TV hits?

This is so, so, so f'ing true.
rightist plutocrats are doing politics. liberal plutocrats are doing charity. it’s an entirely different mindset.
Yup, outside First Ave/7th st Entry is my number one wish for good bike parking
I cannot imagine the fury I would feel if that man was my brother, father, cousin…
“Indifference” is way too generous here: contempt is closer in my experience
So fucking grim and also a very normal indifference to human life from cops and jails
Kingsley Bimpong was arrested, jailed because Eagan police assumed he was intoxicated. He was actually showing signs of a stroke. A drug recognition officer didn't follow training. Bimpong died on the floor of a cell, writhing in pain. Guards ignoring it.

Honestly, 40th st east of I35 works pretty well for me. (Of course doesn’t mean it works for all).
The diversions at several busy intersections keep car traffic really low in my exp. It’s part of what makes me think we should do similar (I assume lower cost) diversions in lots more routes ASAP
