future wife finding the ranking I made of LEGO sets by which ones I think I could conceivably ingest without going to the hospital
I get what you’re saying but I think if the right cared about co-opting imagery, more Democrats would have won elections in the last twenty years. Not wholly without value but ultimately a distraction to the eventual necessity of unsanctioned mass action. Happy to eat shit on this if it does help.

For folks who were upset at the tone of this post — here’s a thread of actions as promised:

As promised, if you’re inspired by the march today but don’t know how else to get involved, how to sustainably fight fascism, that can look a few different ways. Here’s a thread of thoughts, short of nationwide withholding of labor / sustained protest:

To make history you have to risk something, to fight fascism you have to *fight.*

An authorized march demonstrates opposition but does little more.

Please get that straight or else this march tomorrow is doing nothing but absolving your guilt about being part of a system brutalizing millions.
I understand. I guess I just don’t think the diffusion will help. Not calling and confronting things as they is exactly what bothers me about all this.

Peaceful protests are often declared an unlawful assembly, which means police can use force and arrest people for not dispersing. The nature of the protest is irrelevant when the police get to decide when it’s legal or illegal.
Peaceful protest is a vital part of our democracy.

Today, thousands of Angelenos are expected to gather for No Kings Day demonstrations across the city.

I urge everyone to express themselves peacefully and safely.

Sama'a and her family are returning to Gaza City, but they need our help to begin rebuilding. Please give what you can.
Hello my friends, despite the bitterness of life in Gaza and the destruction of our home, we decided to return and start over, but there are burdens that we cannot bear alone. We need $800 to build a tent and rent land. We need $500 to rent a car to transport our belongings.

And I just believe that until Americans are willing to step up and take responsibility for our own history, and what this country has been and become, no significant change can be made
It’s exceptionalist framing. It’s framing that refutes an exact history, documented by our own government, of how we got here. It’s denialism. It says Trump is something different rather than a more aggressive metastasized version of a cancer we’ve had for a long time. I won’t buy into that
I hope everyone out there today is safe and takes care of each other. Protest is good. Just something about this specific framing bothers me because it leaves the actual issues undiagnosed and that’s the first step to actually opposing this in a meaningful way
the idea of ‘No Kings’ bugs me because it’s a fundamental misunderstanding of what we are up against. Trump is not pretending to be king, he’s just operating unrestrained within an apparatus constructed by years of post-war corporate imperial hegemony. He is the sum of American end of history values
I do appreciate how overall resistant we are to ai. So much marketing and pushing from the most powerful people on the planet and it’s very funny that so many people are like “lol no”

Once again, @govpritzker.illinois.gov's state police have attacked protesters while doing crowd control for ICE in Broadview. Pritzker positions himself as a Trump opponent, but he's doing ICE's dirty work in Broadview. It has to stop.

you have to call off the state police that is roughing up protesters if you are serious.

“Like forming a relationship with an angel or a demon”

Normally totally fine with Morrison’s shit because they’ve produced some of the most meaningful comics ever made but you can’t fucking shamanize and whimsy your way out of the real world harm ai use causes
Morrison invoking AI alike to "God" indicates a severe misunderstanding of how AI appropriates the work of thousands, including their own, and someone needs to rectify their understanding ASAP.

But also it's a severe disservice to their colleagues anyway to use it and justify it like this.
Really really really wasn’t hoping it wasn’t that Morrison but of fucking course it is

Long story short, an actual Nazi doxxing ring. Enough people reported them that they went away for like 12 hours and then Elon personally brought them back. The site is dead. If you’re still on there, go lock your account right now
what even happened on the other site this time

No words for how cooked the Christian right is intellectually. Just end times babel on end to prop up a genocidal regime.
A new firm will geofence the actual boundaries of every major church and Christian college in California, Arizona, Nevada, and Coloardo and then “track attendees and continue to target [them] with ads” on behalf of Israel. The $3.2 million contract also includes paying pastors to produce content.
