I truly believe nonprofit media is the way of the future: but sustainability of outlets like ours rely on reader support. As my mom used to say, every little bit helps.

We are in the last two days of our fall fundraising campaign: Reader support gives us the resources necessary to report on government and politics across Tennessee. Please consider a $100, $50 or $25 donation.

I like how the news will be like “while the President claiming Portland was ruled by a giant skeleton named Mr Nibbles is not strictly true, it does speak to the anxiety of many Americans”

First photo is what Noem says in the video. Second photo is what DHS sent me in response to me asking if Noem was aware that many municipal airports have policies against political advertising.

They did not respond to my follow up email.
“Hi, I’m Kristi Noem, the United States Secretary of Homeland Security. It is TSA top priority to make sure that you have the most pleasant and efficient airport experience as possible while we keep you safe. However, Democrats in Congress refuse to fund the federal government and because of this many of our operations are impacted and most of our TSA employees are working without pay. We will continue to do all we can to avoid delays that will impact your travel and our hope is that Democrats will soon recognize the importance of opening the government.”
Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin:

"It is TSA's top priority to ensure that travelers have the most safe, pleasant and efficient airport experience possible. However, Democrats in Congress refuse to fund the federal government, and because of this, most of our TSA employees are working without pay. While this creates challenges for our people, our security operations remain largely in impacted at this time. It’s unfortunate our workforce has been put in this position due to political gamesmanship. Our hope is that Democrats will soon recognize the importance of opening the government."

One wonders if Tennessee’s lawmakers don’t understand the Constitution. The continued treading on the free press won’t stand: Tennessee’s media outlets, including the @tennesseelookout.com, will continue to bring accountability to the public and uphold the First Amendment.
