White folks, please watch the video.

If you aren't following this woman, look her up.

She's one of you, talking to you, telling you the hard truth about conversations that need to be had.
This (moderate) level of racial competency is VERY rare for someone of this demo; white folks should’ve been listening to and learning from people like this for decades.

Sadly, it’s too late to dismantle racism, now. Racism has won.
White America chose it instead of a hyper-qualified Black Woman. 🙁
Well that’s terrifying rhetoric.

There will be fine print at print at the bottom of the new license plates:

"More than 150,000 children taken. That’s really all you need to know about residential schools. In Canada, more than 150,000 Indigenous children attended these institutions between the 1870s and the late 1990s. There, they died, suffered, and ached—for their families, communities, languages .. "

It took us 7 calls and 1.5 hours of being on hold, our kids are phase one. It’s embarrassing and dangerous.

Weird thing is every physician I’ve been talking are shaking their heads and wondering who could possibly be advising this…

It is so poorly thought out and so obviously going to be disastrous…
The speed of this HC privatization push is stomach-churning. Imagine being a healthcare professional watching this disaster unfold, and every single day brings a new plan to make things even worse. Unacceptable. #ABleg #ABpoli
The throne speech today was VERY concerning.
Do everything you can America, but devastatingly, this is not surprising. Protect marginalized groups with all you have.

Albertans are witnessing the deathblow to fair and equitable HC access right here, and all without even a discussion to see if there is a mandate for govt to do this.
This is not hyperbole or fearmongering.

Let's pick 10 quick highlights🧵:

Our new Substack article is live!

And it asks a very serious question...

Should media be intimidated by people using the tools of lawfare to suppress opinions they disagree with?

Because it looks like that might be what happened in Alberta!

Danielle Smith's former Chief of staff demanded The Calgary Herald remove an article rebutting his position...
And then it was removed.

Meanwhile, at the Alberta Legislature thousands of teachers and supporters from across the province have shown up on the first day of the fall session….hope that Speech from the Throne goes well! #yeg #ableg #education #alberta #abeducation #teachers #photojournalism #edmobton #teachersstrike
Lol
Did you hear Alberta’s throne speech today… I almost mistook the first half for an oil and gas lobbyist’s work…

If you have a kid under 5 in #yeg and haven't booked their flu shot yet, the earliest availability is the end of November. The Alberta government really doesn't want people to get vaccines. 🙄

IT'S ON!

On the same day that teachers are rallying in record numbers on the steps of the legislature...

Demetrios Nicolaides is officially the target of an approved recall petition!

16,006 signatures needed starting now!

Sometimes I really do hate being right all the time.
hospital beds, we absolutely cannot afford to further not build hospitals. This government seems to be under the impression hospitals are only for surgery? We NEED capacity and it takes years to get them built, so this makes the problem exponentially worse with each year no ground is broken.
From Alberta’s throne speech today;

“However, the outdated model of building massive new multi-billion-dollar hospitals that take half a decade or more to build – and then are almost always underused when opened – must end.”

So, while I am very aware we need public long term care spaces to open up
Ok, I didn’t mishear. It was said. And while we absolutely need public long term care beds to open up hospital capacity, we need more hospitals. And they do take a while to build. Sounds like we won’t be getting any.
