We’re launching a bi-weekly m-Path blog on #ESM / #EMA measurement, new papers & showcases.

🗓️ Every 2 weeks (Wed).

First up: item quality.

Taken from the Taxonomy paper:

"As time and methods advance, the bedrock of applied valuation research naturally becomes increasingly unreliable, and, as a field, we need to consider how to approach this challenge."

I really enjoy reading the expanding literature on #invariance of #ValueSets. Two interesting papers and a taxonomy regarding #obsolescence

Researching #IntegratedCare, especially for people w #multimorbidity, shows that silos do not start at the psychological vs. physiological, but already within those categories.

For a multi-domain CAT-assessment system, I wonder why not to chose a multidimensional approach (difficult, but not impossible: link.springer.com/article/10.1...).

But for connecting independently developed tests, this seems promising.

Yes, that tech is available and can be used:

Even as a #NightshiftEditor I had an automated reference checker at my disposal:
every reference in a paper was pre-screened. Those that were found were highlighted as such. The others, usually a small proportion, I could check by hand.

Not saying I/we didn't miss any. But the technology is there.

Those can be checked by hand? They were usually the minority of references in submitted papers, and often known to me (central book chapters, test manuals etc).

A propos of some stuff, a brief thread on randomized experiments. 👇

We like randomization as it provides us with a powerful way to solve a big problem: identification.

Identification should not - cannot - precede other parts of the research process: theory, conceptualization, operationalization.
