In the Fall of 2022, we experimented with a one-day "showcase" that was a full slate of presentations of professional wargames, and their design & execution

Take That Hill (UK Fight Club) was our most-watched video from that year!

This. And also this.
The word “essay” means “to try” and it’s just not worth reading if the author did not.
I think one realization that a lot of people resist is that a good essay is as much entertainment as it is persuasion or edification.

Which is partly why I have a really hard time engaging with AI generated content the same way.

The players have learned a lot about "A Fistful of TOWS 3". Who am I kidding, I've learned a lot about "A Fistful of TOWS 3". This has left our Battle for Arracourt feeling very, very different the second time around. The Germans are still coming, but this will be close.

Over 5,000 slop accounts blocked now.
These are accounts that primarily post slop. Randos that post one piece of cringe a month don't get added to this, so it's fairly permissive, but will still wipe a significant chunk of slop from bsky.

Let me state this as clearly as I can:

It is not the job of a historian to make you feel good about your nation’s past.

We need to print this on t-shirts and bumper stickers.

As one should. Shatter the romantic nonsense.
Well done Jan.
What subject did you tackle in particular in your presentation ?

We imagined it to be Kursk, with hordes of Soviets holding off a massive German attack. What it was was eight players, a 15' table, and three hours of "Eisenhower" with Little Wars TV and the Armchair Dragoons left in an early 4-4 tie. @armchairdragoons.bsky.social

This is the copy of the WFRP 4th edition rulebook that I used while writing the Enemy Within Director's Cut. I put a notarized statement to that effect in the front, vaguely intending to auction it for charity.
Since I was laid off, I now need the money for rent and food.
Would anyone bid on this?

Happy celebrations of 959 years, to the day, when the rightful King defeated the Usurper up the slopes of Senlac hill, in what would come to be known as the Battle of Hastings.

Taking no questions.
