If you genuinely love great writing then you are going to be disappointed reading anything 99% of the time.

Tell me your most unhinged literary opinion, as a little treat

So that’s what HBO stands for! Homosexuals, bisexuals, other. Of course!

Coalition, multi-party politics is the only way to go in a pluralistic society. Monolithic parties that ultimately stand for power and not much else need to go. Give us a proper choice over the ideas and policies to feed into government where compromises happen rather than pre-diluted non-entities.

The biggest takeaway from this graph is that six of the seven most unpopular prime ministers since records began are *the last six prime ministers we've had*

Does this look like the politics of a functional democracy?

Cape Verde have just become the smallest country by area to ever qualify for the World Cup.

The nation is smaller than 49 of the 50 U.S. states and could have fit into the Soviet Union — the largest country to ever play at the World Cup — 5,554 times.

Through sheer trial and error (and desperation) we found out that our little one fell asleep best to ‘So What’ by Miles Davis. Yeah, I know.

Now he’s a full blown toddler I’ve brought it back into his bedtime routine and he just beams with delight throughout the whole 8 mins or however long it is.

This was always my fear on the argument that we leave the “super” clubs to their super league and rebuild better without them, but if it’s happening anyway…

A guy who looks like he might explode into water at any time like the bloke from the first X-Men film presumes to think he will rule over us.

Unexpected moment of peak existence as the dad of a toddler: seeing their face when you replace the batteries in a beloved toy/sound book as they realise it’s all working again.

You see this (unsurprisingly) a lot in the tech space - in particular the view that something must be inevitable if you put enough work into the “prerequisite”.

Eg: if we pour enough resources into developing LLMs, we will surely eventually create AGI.

Completely agree with this - there is a lot of terrible policymaking where you can see the direct echo of “this guy played a lot of Civ as a child and teen”.

Genuinely think the concept of the tech tree has done a lot of damage.

I am so sick of living in a world where certain groups insist art & culture be re-oriented to serve their tastes and whims when their own pitiful inability or unwillingness to critically engage with and contemplate creativity clearly demonstrate that art & culture are too good for them.
Conservatives Take Aim at ‘One Battle After Another’: “Year’s Most Irresponsible Movie”
While Paul Thomas Anderson's film is being heralded as a masterpiece by many, some conservatives accuse it of potentially inspiring left-wing violence.
