One nice part about working from home is that when you've got some long running tests on the go that will take a few hours to complete over lunch, you don't have to sit around waiting for them but can do something else.

Like nip into the workshop and turn a replacement handle for a hand trowel. 😂

When they are going to hate you whatever you do it means you are free to do anything.

I wish some politicians closer to home would learn this.

Whether it’s election cycles, global conflict, or economic turbulence, the sense of division and uncertainty in the news feels sharper than ever.

Despite this, the case (and appetite) for climate action remains strong. Find out why - and how you can prove it - in our blog. ⬇️

Probably safer than ramming some random USB lead/device you found on a train into your phone or laptop.

Good to see #CarbonLiteracy training is being offered as part of @lborouniversity.bsky.social "Sustainability Week". I hope they get a good take up as the Carbon Literacy course is a great introduction to #ClimateChange and related topics. And a recognised cert too.

Pinched out the growing tips of the autumn sown sweet peas in the #allotment greenhouse. Min-max thermometer said it still got up to 32°C in there last week and stayed a few degrees above freezing.
Still getting some little cherry #tomatoes off the plants Monty told us to grub out a few weeks ago on #GardenersWorld. Not masses obviously at this time of year, but lot will be enough for a tomato & bean slow cooker meal.
I nipped to the shops whilst walking through the town on the way to the #allotment to see if any still had Autumn sown onion sets.

No onions but I'm now back home having failed to reach the allotment because I might have accidentally spent about £30 on spring flowering bulbs in B&Q.

30+ years ago, my mind was blown when my computer science professor suggested that one day, applications on our computers would be updated by contacting a remote server.

I don’t think he ever imagined that companies would also disable applications we’ve already paid for and installed.

As well as the #RepairCafe in the Methodist church hall this morning, there's a "Give and Take" stall. This month's theme is "Toys and Games" so a perfect time to declutter toy cupboards and/or pick up some new games for free.
Waiting for the building to be opened for our #RepairCafe set up this morning, I noticed the churchyard across the street is now in peak English Autumn colours.
Heh, I think the world is glad that wasn't a rule when I was a child! I'm so tone deaf and lacking coordination that one music teacher got me to TCP the mouthpieces of the spare set of recorders so I didn't put the rest of the class off by playing badly out of sync with everyone else. 🎵🤣🤣🤣🤣

This Saturday is the first Saturday in November which means it is also #RepairCafe day!

From 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM at Stratford Methodist Church in
Old Town, Stratford-upon-Avon we'll have volunteers who can try to fix your broken stuff for FREE! Sewing, bikes, electrics, sharpening and more!
I love it: a chap has salvaged hundreds of Li-Ion cells from disposable #vapes and rigged them up into a #battery big enough to power not only his workshop, but his entire house.

From e-waste to smart home #energy!
