As news that 2/5 of the “aid” allowed into Gaza is truckloads of body bags & the UN warns 14,000 babies are going to die in the next 48hrs without immediate intervention, I turn once again to social media - where thousands are begging for their lives.

3/ In more sensible days, ICE mostly left defendants alone unless they already had convictions for deportable offenses & let new charges play out in the system. But between Trump/Miller and the Laken Riley Act it's completely indiscriminate now, yet another way to waste everyone's time & resources

2/ Anyone who pays bail after being arrested for a criminal charge is being taken. People showing up to court are being taken. People with cases about to go to trial are being taken. People who violate their probation are being taken. ICE's respect for state cops and prosecutors remains nonexistent

1/ Good morning from Chelsea District Court, which has jurisdiction over more non-citizens per capita than any other MA court. Just thought you should know that ICE has left the prosecution unable to proceed against dozens of cases scheduled for this morning, including the one I am appearing on

It's not just a lifelong prejudice. It's that the media has a documented bias against left wing protest for at least half a century. When they can't frame them as violent or inconvenient they frame them as infective
For one thing, these protests have been happening in every state from small towns to suburbs to big cities.

Pundudes like Brooks can't let go of their lifelong prejudices even when they see it's an emergency. He'd turn down a lifeboat in a flood if it was piloted by someone registered Democratic.
I read the piece. You shouldn't. He dismisses the "No Kings" protests as liberals in blue cities. He invokes Rosa Parks, as if rural white people in the 60s loved everything that the movement then was doing. "We need a movement but not this one" is a core centrist tact these days.

GOP’s labor market policy is market protectionism for white men.
"For the first time since the 1960s, the earnings gap between men and women has widened two years in a row...with women earning 80.9 cents for every dollar a man earned in 2024. That compares to women earning 84 cents for every dollar a man earned in 2022."

Researchers are identifying several key factors behind why gender pay gap – which had narrowed steadily over the years – has suddenly widened.

Popular Israeli TikToker and trainer Hen Ben Moha (hen_bar_ami, 189k followers) posted a video of her trainees exercising to the sound of the new unofficial Israeli anthem "May Their Village Burn".

They sing along excitedly. Hen adds "AMEN!"

The EU had a choice: its principles or Israel.
It chose so badly.
Article 2, EU-Israel trade treaty:

Relations between the Parties, as well as all the provisions of the Agreement itself, shall be based on respect for human rights and democratic principles, which guides their internal and international policy and constitutes an essential element of this Agreement.

Folks, Israel is not letting aid in which means Palestinians continue to have to buy fought on the black market from Israel sponsored gangs. If you can donate a little money to the fundraisers we're posting, you can keep someone alive. Palestinians wouldn't beg if they didn't have to.
UNRWA has enough food outside #Gaza to supply people there for 3 months, amid desperate need. Our teams stand ready to deliver it.

But despite the #ceasefire, the Israeli Authorities’ block on UNRWA bringing any supplies into Gaza still continues.

Let us get aid into Gaza at the full scale needed.

the extent to which media elites treat liberal americans as if they do not count in the body politic is a real problem

This small 80% of the American population that lives in urban areas is completely out of touch with the 20% majority
Reposted by Leilani (she/her)
they've been easing this concept in for a long while, now it's just full throttle because no one's stopping them and they control the majority of media outlets

if the protests don't count from blue cities, and blue states/cities don't count for government funding, why count their votes either?
“the protests don’t count if they happen in blue cities.” so, what, they aren’t americans? their voices don’t matter?

Despite the ceasefire, Maali’s suffering continues to worsen. Maali is suffering from partial paralysis and bedsores, and she needs adult diapers. She hasn’t left the crossing for the past two years. do not ignore Maali.
One pack diapers cost 200$.

Like seriously seriously, are we talking about a country that *simultaneously* had the Chinese Exclusion Act, Jim Crowe, AND the fucking Trail of Tears??? All at once??? You think America suddenly couldn’t split its hate-focus post 9/11 uniquely??????

So a couple people have now hinted at the idea that Black people didn’t have it so bad post-9/11 because Muslims had it bad. This ignores that there were and are a lot of Black Muslims. This also ignores that more than one group of people can be targeted for state violence. It’s never just one group

“The Defense Department has confiscated the badges of the Pentagon reporters from virtually every major media organization in America,” the Pentagon Press Association said

Oct. 15, 2025
PENTAGON PRESS ASSOCIATION
STATEMENT
Today, the Defense Department confiscated the badges of the Pentagon reporters from virtually every major media organization in America. It did this because reporters would not sign onto a new media policy over its implicit threat of criminalizing national security reporting and exposing those who sign it to potential prosecution.
The Pentagon Press Association's members are still committed to reporting on the U.S. military. But make no mistake, today, Oct. 15, 2025 is a dark day for press freedom that raises concerns about a weakening U.S. commitment to transparency in governance, to public accountability at the Pentagon and to free speech for all.

One reason I am blood spitting mad about Portland is that two men were MURDERED

intervening when a man who tried to stab Demetria Hester the DAY before …..

tried to stab to Black Hijabi

And Andy NGO who was targeting Black women online

Was talking about Portland freaks
Nevermind as OP states the actual Black Muslims who - in this case most especially girls & women who wore the hijab - got the dual weight of anti-Blackness AND Islamaphobia AND increased xenophobia even if they were born in America

NEW — I dug into the story of ICE abducting a 13-year-old boy in Massachusetts and moving him 500 miles across state lines without notifying his mother, local cop's complicity, and how the federal government's justification for such cruelty is already falling apart:
ICE took a 13-year-old they said had a gun. Local cops say he didn’t.
Now he's detained 500 miles away from his Massachusetts home.

I was alive in the early 2000s & can assure you an increased violent hatred of Muslims did not in anyway correlate to *less* violent hatred towards queer people, Black people, disabled people . . . Like be so for real, this country managed the Chinese Exclusion Act within 20 years of the Civil War.
Nevermind as OP states the actual Black Muslims who - in this case most especially girls & women who wore the hijab - got the dual weight of anti-Blackness AND Islamaphobia AND increased xenophobia even if they were born in America
And yes, he was murdered out of rage, hate, & ignorance that profiled him as an Arab Muslim - that’s who the murder “meant” to get. But that doesn’t change the thousands of Sikh (especially men) & South Asian people, let alone Middle Eastern Christians, Jews, & others who were targeted & harassed.
