Look it is not AT ALL in Alyss' nature to mock a dead man (that she killed) like this, she takes that shit extremely seriously 99.9% of times, but... she's gotta play it up for the kids.😆

She can tell them about the nuances of Loghain's character when they're older.

Abruptly, Alyss dropped her weapon with an exaggerated gasp and, clutching the chest of her tunic and pointing at the bard, she exclaimed. "Oh, no! An Orlesian! My only weakness!" She fell to her knees and, with monumental effort not to break into giggles, continued. "She's not even doing anything, but her existence makes my balls twist with anger!"

"Alyss!" Leliana scolded. "Language!"

Alyss snorted softly, her composure breaking as the children took their chance to generously smack her around with their branches. "Please I grew up in this place, I know they've heard worse at this age,"

13, Alyss would have said I love you first, but she chooses to wait for Leliana to either say it first or be more in a place to hear it on account of... everything with Marjolaine. She wants to give her time to process.

I'm writing some post-blight fluff today because sometimes I need them to be happy and Alyss dealing with children in any capacity is guaranteed joy. #WIPWednesday

"That's not faaair!" the boy yelled, his voice rising in pitch as his stomped his foot against the ground. "You can't be the Hero of Ferelden every time!"

The girl crossed her arms, unmoved by the display. And there she spoke with the authority only a child with a couple of years over their siblings would ever display. "The Hero of Ferelden is a girl, Amos."

"I don't care!" The little boy whined. "I don't want to be Loghain every time. That's no fun!" Amos argued. "Either I get to be the Hero at least once or I'm not playing anymore!"

Alyss drew a deep breath at Leliana's side and following a gentle squeeze, let go of her hand. Casually, she turned the corner of the building they had both been hiding behind and strolled right into what was shaping up to be a temper tantrum of monumental proportions.

The girl was the first to take notice of her presence. With a small startled yelp, the child dropped her branch, staring in awestruck silence as the very hero she had been trying to emulate walked up to the two of them mid-argument. The boy turned, alarmed by his sister's sudden shift in behavior and upon noticing Alyss he let out a quiet "wow" under his breath.

He recovered much quicker than his sister, however, and unabashedly he pointed directly at Alyss' face and said: "Woah, did the archdemon do that?"

"Amos!" his sister scolded. "That's rude!"

Yet, she too looked up at her expectantly, as if still hoping for an answer.

"He did," Alyss answered, a grin in her voice. "But he didn't get away with it, did he?"

Emboldened by her answer the boy asked, curious: "Does it hurt?"

"Not anymore," Alyss answered.

"Can I touch them?" he requested.

Alyss chuckled. "No. You may not."

"Aw,"

"Is it true your sword was made from star metal?"

"That's true," Alyss confirmed.

"Where is it?"

"At my father's house."

"Can we see it?"

"Maybe later," Alyss conceded.

"Can I hold it?" he asked excitedly.

"No, you may not."

"Aw."

Hearing about how other cultures embody third genders, nonbinary identities, and even transcended well beyond gender in their understandings makes me cry. I feel like I have been robbed somehow, in the sense that I have to fight. When I simply should be allowed to exist as who I am.

12. I sadly do not have any physical merch. I got artwork of them, but not *merch*. Sadly I've not been able to find anyone who makes DA merch who ships *from Brazil*. That would help things a lot because shipping and customs... It's a nightmare. 😆

11. Uhm... My color coding for Alyss changes from a maroon red to a dark grey-blue from Origins to Awakening. Symbolic of getting over trauma, or something, I dunno. It just is. lol

Leliana... I like golds and burnt oranges and yellows for her. She is very sunny-autumn in my mind for some reason. 😆
