I’m going to an organizing event for him tonight to learn more. He’s definitely saying things that position him closer to my own politics than Mills.

That said, I think the national dems should keep their money out of the state until the primary is over. We’re all supposed to be on the same team and it would be nice if, instead of spending resources to crush progressive voices, dems saved their money to outspend republicans.

As a person who lives in Maine, I think this is basically right. Like Noah, I have a lot of respect for Mills willingness to stand up to Trump in defense of trans kids but I lean Platner. I don’t think a contested primary is a bad thing. None of us should want to be fettermanned.

going to re up this piece on why it's probably a good thing Mills is in the race.

I like Platner, but he's never held office and never really been vetted. I think in a case like that it's kind of important for him to have a competitive primary. www.everythingishorrible.net/p/mills-is-i...
Mills Is In ME Senate Race. That's Good.
Yes, even though she’s 77.

Tell me your most unhinged opinion about the viability of the French state convicting a day labourer to five years for breaking a window to steal a loaf of bread to feed his sister’s seven starving children then adding on twelve more years for escape attempts and then he meets Monseigneur Bienvenu a

There’s no credible way to run “Mikie is another Phil Murphy” in the paper of record but when it’s more important to print lies in the newspaper than have credibility, nyt is too happy to find a know-nothing to quote if it will advance their agenda.

Not content with having sane-washed Trump, the NYT continues its reach tradition of interviewing people who don’t know anything in order to present what they say as news.

Wine moms is funny because they’re women and therefore their labor (raising kids, running a household) is inherently not of any value and they know it so they drink a lot. They’d rather be brunching, a frivolous social bonding ritual. Also Dems should take the male loneliness epidemic seriously.

(idk about you but I'm ready for Americans to stop using the dismissive & misogynistic term "wine moms," even ironically)

It’s a res publica, not a democracy, say people who support the wealthy demagogue ruling without the senate or popular assembly and suggesting paying the army from private funds.

Trump: "I had a very wealthy person who called -- a donor, a great gentleman -- and he said, 'if there's any money necessary, shortfall, for the paying of the troops, then I will pay it.' Meaning he will pay it. How about that?"

Whenever I see men complain about the male loneliness crisis or unique emotional/psychological issues faced by men, it’s very clear that they just don’t see women as full people capable of experiencing the exact same emotions they do

Right but there’s no machine in place here that can be activated to mount a ground campaign?

Just starting to dip my toes in to politics here but I haven’t gotten the sense the Maine dems are terribly well organized or powerful?
