📌 Hi bluesky!

Who: Eric, a creative Christian (but not THAT kind) who enjoys talking games, sports, humor, faith, family.

What: I make games! @tinybookshelf.itch.io

Warning: I may indulge in abrupt/extreme tonal shifts (silly/serious), post pretty actively, and share bad jokes. I try to be kind.
boom boom, clap

interesting, i do what i can to keep our decks pretty interactive (lots of typal stuff -- dinoaurs! birds! dragons! etc.) but yeah some of that might be inevitable with the format ha, we do a lot of 1v1 too which helps
how far they have fallen, yikes
... what's the joke, here?
what the @#$% is he going on about, yikes
There can be, for sure! I thought I was benefitting them to trying to keep things fairly simple (lot of typal decks, no infinite combos, etc.), but then my son discovered he loves playing mono blue for the counterspells, so... 😅
I think I'm with ya -- I accepted the Weapons finale, let myself enjoy the ride, but as a film I'd take Barbarian. Really appreciate his willingness to take those swings though, either way.
Watched Weapons last night.

Really enjoyed it, and loved Barbarian, so whatever the hell Zach Cregger does next I will be there.
thanks to my oldest two kids enjoying it i have been playing a LOT of Magic: The Gathering lately so, that's, that's a thing you can now talk to me about and i will engage with authentically, just a heads-up (we play casual Commander games, have lots of fun)
Somewhere, right now, a squirrel is having the sort of adventure their friends will never believe. Good morning.
the days are getting shorter

good morning

A bunch of new people following me today; many gamedevs I believe, so here's some screenshots of "Project AB", which is a desktop/VR game I've been working on in my spare time with built-in world-creation features, though I haven't yet revealed the core theme of the program! :B
Screenshot from Blender of posing a hand to hold a thin rod. Screenshot of a game where a tool with an LCD screen on it is being used to colour and tint multiple brick walls and staircases. Screenshot from a game where a staircase is having its height adjusted with a pop-up window. Screenshot from a game where the player is holding a sword. There are trees in the background.
quick mtg joke before i forget
An image of the Magic: The Gathering card "The One Ring" except the title has been shoddily edited to now read "Sole Ring"
gosh i don't know ANYONE who's working on cool stuff right now smh

Yes, I am on a bit of a game development hiatus.

I am dealing with some Life Stuff which, while not urgent or related to my health, has just kinda left in very much... not in a gamedev headspace, ha.

Honestly it's a blessing to be able to step away at times when I need.
I think one of the funniest (actually really sad, but) social media phenomena is all the accounts who are vocally Christian, claim to worship Jesus -- but suddenly get weirdly defensive when you criticize their favorite human idol. They can't help it. Very telling!
Tár is to Uncut Gems as The Substance is to Beau Is Afraid. I will not be taking questions at this time. Good morning.
the simple phrase "boxer-turned-crustacean" nearly did me in with a fit of laughter
