the dodgers are probably gonna have sasaki turn back into a starter after this year

but the contract is so team friendly and he's been so good in this role, you gotta wonder if there's a chance he becomes, like, a new breed of closer that's able to go deeper/longer in a pinch with a bit more ease

the funniest thing about this is that those of us who grew up in the divide all have a bunch of pre-cell phone numbers memorized and almost none afterwards

I know the home phone numbers of two of my childhood best friends from thirty years ago and none of the cell numbers of my college friends

Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?

I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

kind of amazing (derogatory) that until the full-time introduction of the throwbacks/swap of the powder tops to have the sunburst, they were rocking four jerseys with the exact same wordmark. truly inspiring stuff
