“Just like being tall, all autistic people, regardless of how their status arises, could benefit from the same kinds of considerations and accommodations for shared autism-associated traits”

buttondown.com/TPGA/archive...
There are many roads to what we humans view as "being tall," but in the end, the outcome is, well, being tall. We don't spend a lot of time discussing tall people as being "profoundly tall" or subdividing them in some way based on their tallness. We don't have pages of handwringing in the news media and scientific literature about how to
prevent tall people from existing or indirectly implying that aim by going on and on about causes. We don't perseverate in op-eds and 24-hour news channel commentary on how tall
people discompose us at movies and public events because we can't see over them. We don't talk about how distracting tall people are, how much space they require just to exist, or what a burden their clinical needs are on
society, and we don't ask why we have to have tall people around at all when they are just so much trouble for not-tall people (te he clear. Llive with and them. We don't talk about how distracting tall people are, how much space they require just to exist, or what a burden their clinical needs are on
society, and we don't ask why we have to have tall people around at all when they are just so much trouble for not-tall people (to be clear, I live with and love several tall people). And one other thing: You can't take the tallness out of someone, not in any ethical way.
"Tall" is just what they are.

1992: family home rented to 4 frat boys@ Xtian uni. I stopped by to check on things. They had broken into locked areas&taken our things to use, ritually slaughtered a ram in our backyard,& tacked notes on my sib’s corkboard abt girls they wanted to rape+ racist “memes.” They’ve always been this way
ejwillingham.bsky.social
They were def doing this in the ‘80s, too. It’s not like it just stopped&then started up again. They’ve always been like this. It’s part of the culture, no matter how they’ve tried to dress it up. This language was their test of the room, who was in-group etc. I’ve had it tested on me plenty

Happy to share my piece for @theguardian.com on the mainstreaming of fascist fashion. If we want to fight this, we first need to learn to recognize (and name) its aesthetics, especially today. Check it out 🗃️https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/oct/15/fascist-fashion-language

The 15 y/o detained by CBP today in the East Side neighborhood has been released per a statement from his attorneys.

Story tk in the morning.
CHICAGO (October 14, 2025) – A 15-year-old American citizen was detained by Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) agents today in a manner reminiscent of authoritarian regimes, holding him incommunicado in a federal building garage for five hours without informing his family, stating any charges, or allowing him to call an attorney. The teenager, who is Hispanic and African American, was grabbed off a Chicago East Side street at approximately 12:30 p.m. CST slammed to the ground, kneed in the back, and zip-tied by CBP agents. He was then transported to a federal law enforcement facility not affiliated with CBP or ICE, where CBP agents held him, handcuffed, in the back of a vehicle in a garage—never booking him, never reading him his rights, never stating why he was detained, and never allowing him to contact his mother. For five hours, his mother had no idea where her son was or whether he safe. Federal agents provided no information about his whereabouts, no phone call, no explanation for the arrest. His mother’s terror was amplified by her son’s heart condition and the complete absence of any information from authorities.

"This is how people disappear in autocracies—grabbed off streets, held in unmarked locations, no calls to family, no stated charges, no due process," said Founding Partner Antonio M. Romanucci of Romanucci & Blandin, the firm that obtained his release this evening. "A 15-year-old American citizen was effectively 'disappeared' for five hours in Chicago. This is not law enforcement; this is the playbook of authoritarian regimes."

8 months pregnant, wait in line to order at takeout taco place, order something ON THE MENU and guy goes, "I'm not gonna mess up my line with that," and ... just declines my order? So FURIOUS. That was first child, so like, April 2001. Thought about it today, still mad. WTF

Indiana University fires IDS
adviser amid push to control
student newspaper's content The director of student media at Indiana University was fired amidst a dispute between university leadership and editors at the Indiana Daily Student over what content gets printed in the student newspaper.

As director of student media, Jim Rodenbush did not directly oversee or have any say over the content published in the IDS, per a charter between the IDS and the university. But he told IndyStar his firing follows a series of meetings with IU Media School leadership in which it grew increasingly apparent they were expecting him to officially prohibit students from publishing news.

so, a big Resistance account on here kindly reshared my piece, then deleted their original post, and wrote another one linking to an article from a different site that aggregated my reporting here (and did so with due credit to be fair) … social media can be so weird

Unless and until some kind of compelling legal and moral argument is presented as to why this is a legitimate use of deadly force, this is just…mass murder.

Wonder if they'd consider scraping this article, which is followed by a "rights and permissions" link, to be a "growing pain" for them

It’s funny how black people are expected to reach across the aisle to voters like these, while no one ever expects them to reach across the aisle to black people. Amazing who gets to be human, and who doesn’t.
