This Friday, join us for our October cleanup at Peace Memorial Park in Lloyd. We'll be picking up trash in the area and removing graffiti. A big focus of this cleanup will be site maintenance at the park, in particular raking up leaves along the bike and sidewalks in the park.

Tomorrow, we'll gather to debut the parket, and remember and honor Keaton and Fred. There will be delicious food, speakers, performances, and family-friendly activities for children. We will have canopies in case of rain, and we will be masked to protect our most marginalized communities.

Since 2019, Lloyd EcoDistrict has been a member of the Justice of Keaton Otis group as it seeks to create a permanent memorial for Keaton at the site. In 2024, students at Benson High School (where Keaton went to school) constructed a parklet, and it was installed over the past month.

Join us for the Keaton Otis Memorial Art Parklet Unveiling tomorrow, Oct 1, between 5pm and 8pm.

Keaton was fatally shot by police in Lloyd in 2010. His father, Fred Johnson, and then members of Justice for Keaton Otis, have held a vigil on the 12th of each month at NE Halsey & NE 6th.

The team concluded that is would much more cost effective (even including the potential climate benefits of reuse) to focus on policy interventions related to supporting the development of surface parking lots, advocating the statewide land value tax, and retiring the outdated Lloyd Design Overlay.

We want 1000s of new neighbors in Lloyd, but office conversion isn't the way. We partnered with PSU MURP to study potential policy interventions to spur office-to-residential conversions, and the results were clear that this isn't a viable path. Learn more: www.ecolloyd.org/project/housing-in-lloyd

Same! This is a great space for a venue, and Monqui Presents is one of Portland's home-grown leaders in the music economy, so I'm thrilled that this is moving forward and can't wait to jump in the mosh pit with Councilor Zimmerman.

The Lloyd Center concert venue is officially moving forward—and that’s a big win for Portland. I can’t wait to see some major artists take the stage.
