We should talk more about how getting through this is going to involve rebuilding most of our information institutions completely from the ground up (at the very least news media/journalism, universities, and the entire technology sector; libraries seem fine). Whole scale capture by disinformation.

In hindsight, they didn't even do much despite outnumbering us until that spark figure showed up to light their powder keg. But from other experiences, even the spark figure is nothing against having sufficient numbers.

And the one thing that would have truly defused the situation is literally a bunch of people joining us with placards. Because these kinds of agitators will call and hide behind cops the moment they are outnumbered, but they love a fight they imagine they can win. Numbers dictated the situation.

I am ill-suited to jump into discourse at any time, but I'm thinking back to an evening where a gang of racist agitators outnumbered my crew and I spent moments wondering if I would die just for standing on the sidewalk and holding up my side of a banner.

presumes our consent by default. "Men always want it!" "They won't ever say no!"

So any man who says "no" is seen as faulty. He is mistrusted. He is shallow or secretly gay. If we're partnered, the knee jerk reaction is "he's getting it elsewhere"
