DLD is a lifelong condition and it does make lots of things more challenging. BUT once a person's needs are identified and they are supported they can thrive.
This is why we need far more awareness of Developmental Language Disorder (DLD)! www.naplic.org.uk/developmenta...

Just back from holiday and pleased to see work led by a past Honours student, Diana Bicona, now published: rdcu.be/eH32N. We don't find any interaction between common genetic variant effects and broad measures of SES, but both main effects are signficant for reading achievement.

After years of complaining about cancel culture, the current administration has taken it to a new and dangerous level by routinely threatening regulatory action against media companies unless they muzzle or fire reporters and commentators it doesn’t like.

Brilliant paper by Visscher et al.

Populations differ in traits/disease burden. Are these differences due to genetics?

Comparing single variants or polygenic scores between populations is biased due to environmental confounders correlated with the variants.

Major new paper by finds implicit measures like the IAT are no better than asking people directly about their biases. After decades of avoiding self-reports, turns out our sophisticated replacement tools work no better than what we abandoned. New post!
