Sobriety from booze sealed the deal on my marriage ending and I see that now. Probably why I feel drawn to AA and therapy work and talking to others who struggle. The sacrifice was worth it. Fuck.

Also, having a kid diagnosed with autism was the last thing that convinced me. And that he didn't see the signs of autism that I saw in our child. And so now I have that info.

All that guilt and it was only because I was the one who was willing to go get diagnosed and get in treatment.

Not even heard but listened to. Paid attention to. And it makes me feel guilty and I didn't realize that until I started having healthy communication again with friends. Not my low-boundary Mom but friends I can practice moderate boundaries with. And it's revealing to me how suppressed I've been.

As a diagnosed adhd with an autistic child and ex, hyperfixation is definitely one of those commonalities between the two. There are many because both are a spectrum.

The secret about adhd is that there's the other side of the coin called hyperfixation and boy oh boy is it a treat!

Side effects include time-blindness so have fun doing that thing for so long people medicate you for it! 🙃

They're paternalistic and in denial that their motivations are to heal something inside themselves and not the betterment of all women. They could do better by women by fixing themselves first but they don't get kudos for doing quiet work. So they're obnoxious and cause more problems than they fix.
