I say again that the bar should actually be raised. The 20 oireachtas votes was set when that was approximately 10% of members. There are more now. It should be raised to 23-24 votes to maintain the percentage.
I think people start driving differently without even knowing it. People give way to them, so they expect it, push out at junctions, worry less about other road users injuring/harming them. Noticed this when in one with a friend good enough that I could mention it. She realised it was true.
Oh Ireland is mostly fine with Ms, I've not had a problem for many years. I was referring to 'boomer' not really being a thing - in the '40s and '50s our population was still falling, emigration was massive.
A word for Raymond Crotty who took the governmet to court in 1987, won, and established that major changes to EU treaties required a referendum before they could be ratified. Whatever his motivation - he was absolutely opposed to EU membership - he did us a favour there.
Former Tánaistí Mary Coughlan. For the avoidance of doubt!
Heather Humphreys on the News at One asked about her government's failings on issues like housing.

She points to what they inherited in the construction sector and the economy.

Unrelated: She has thanked Bertie Ahern, Mary Coughlan and Mary Harney for their endorsements since yesterday.

Once again, our nearest neighbours have had a brilliant idea which forgets about the jurisdiction within their border which allows people to choose their nationality.
'thanks' to the algorithm, this is what I woke up to every morning... As a foreigner, this really gets me in a good mood (not) for the day.
If it's an option I use none of them, but if pushed on forms etc use Ms. Boomer - though I'm in Ireland so that designation hasn't much meaning. I've been using Ms since I was a teenager the 70s when I learned of it via an article in Cosmopolitan!
I had absolutely no idea who Jim Gavin was, I don't think I'd ever even heard of him before and know others who were the same. Micheál Martin vastly overestimated his name recognition outside GAA circles. Heather's chief advantage was that she had space in her diary.
The issue they love as a gotcha - who she represented as a barrister - actually contradicts their other favourite criticism - that she has views too extreme for a president. It shows that she understands what a job involves and can separate her personal views from what's required.

Both FG and FF had planned to run candidates supporting their moves to integrate Ireland into EU defence arrangements.

One or other would win.

They would then claim to have a popular mandate.

That has backfired spectacularly.
And Dudley-Edwards. She's cooked.
"He said for really successful people in political campaigning in elections, such as Tony Blair and Donald Trump..."

He's not helping himself there. Or Heather either.
For all the talk about the FF selection the FG one seems just as chaotic. They had Mairead McGuinness locked down till she had to withdraw - and she'd have performed far far better. After that it seemed to have basically been "Heather's at a loose end". Sean Kelly was never a serious contender.
Good money after bad.
The gap between your two and my grandchildren (2 girls) is similar and the baby, almost 5 months, is the same, flying. It's just my feeling but the baby is utterly fascinated by her big sister, has wanted to watch her, take objects she offers etc as soon as she could. I think that drives progress.
When you hear there are already candidates jostling to get on the ballot for a by-election in Galway you know they know the game is up.

I've seen a few people say that they can't vote for CC or HH because they can't endorse either of them.

Good news, it's a secret ballot, and no-one is asking you to endorse either of them!

You can quietly vote for the least worst one and no-one need ever know.

Tiny tiny irritation. Fairy ad: "..lasts up to two times longer". There is a whole special word for 'two times'.

I do not talk to technology. I hate voice control shit, it's so much clunkier than just pressing a button. No Alexa, no Siri, no hey Google. They will never be in my house.
i have never, not once, listened to a song on spotify unless it was playing at somebody else's place

what are you a luddite about
So sorry for your loss, she has such lovely kind eyes.
My grandaughter, a natural born punk. No amount of brushing will make her hair lie done.
Baby with hair in a natural mohican.
Funny he never thinks of that when handing out goodies to developers.
