My mom was a qualified cosmetologist who would do people’s hair at home for free when they couldn’t pay. If they wanted to give her something, she said, “Just bring me a diet Pepsi.” She did all my friends’ hairstyles for formal events for years without asking for a dime.

Every tomb was decorated in so much detail, it was hard to take it all in! Here are a few more highlights. I especially appreciated the pleurants, meant to represent mourners of the departed

This week I got the visit the Kaisergruft, the Imperial Crypt of the Habsburgs in Vienna. Founded in 1619, it hold the remains of 145 members of the Habsburg family. Every tomb is extravagantly decorated with Memento Moris as a reminder that even emperors don’t live forever

This is Pringle. He was found as a stray with a dislocated femur and severely damaged hip socket. Despite being in a lot of pain, he just wants to kiss everyone he meets. He needs surgery to repair his hip, then he can focus on giving out smooches. You can help him below ❤️‍🩹

The coronation thrones at Copenhagen’s Rosenborg Castle. The white one is made out of narwhal tusks! They are guarded by three almost life-sized silver lions, which make it feel just a little bit Las Vegas. Sadly, you’re not allowed to sit on the lions

If you look very closely, you can see the spiral texture of the narwhal tusks. Three huge silver lions stand guard in various positions in front of the thrones. They are enormous and very detailed. Sinding’s career took off when he moved to Copenhagen. A lot of his work can now be seen at the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek, a museum dedicated to the art and antiquities collection of Carl Jacobsen of the Carlsberg brewing empire

Sinding studied in Paris and was influenced by Rodin, but he was rejected there because his style was “too modern.” I don’t know about you, but I prefer this to Rodin
