isn't that was dragonstrike was on PC? perhaps a modern-day remake of that? but I'll agree with the other commenters Panzer Dragoon was probably the best version of that concept to date! we do need more games like that for sure, IMO.

the Ninja Gaiden reboot definitely tested my patience, but I did really enjoy the few DOA games I played. (2-4) so he had a few good games!

according to a notice on his Facebook page, Tomonobu Itagaki has passed away at the age of 58. No details were shared, but the statement expressed his misgivings about “failing to produce a new game for the fans”

thankfully the new owners had it down to $20 so I couldn't say no at THAT price. also there was a little taco stand just around the corner that had been closed RIGHT after we discovered it coming up this way. turns out they were just under new ownership! so good to know for our future return trip.

Funny story about Donkey Kong Classics, so the store used to go by a different name and we'd actually dropped by back in 2013! I asked how much they wanted for it (there were like three cart-only copies on display) and he said *$50* I couldn't freaking believe it. so I just left em for someone else.

NGL it hasn't been a great October. so @miishiikins.bsky.social and I needed a day out to escape! stopped in at KFC for lunch then hit up Throwback Gamez for some retro goodness. Definitely the break we needed from the ongoing shitshow. At least got us some NES heavy hitters!
