Still doing everything I can to push our Cheat Code Compendium pre-order campaign. Been on a bunch of podcasts promoting the book, but still have days open to do more. If you have a podcast & want answers about the book, hit me up. I'll do your show.

Back from my Super Bowl watch party and what an exciting time it was. I know everybody wants a close game, but I'm just happy my Seahawks won a stress-free game. The whole party was electric!

Solid advice, GamePro.

One cliche I try my hardest to avoid is the "everything was better in the past" trope. The Review Crew episodes aren't necessarily trying to say that game reviews were better 30 years ago (in some cases, they are much, MUCH worse), but rather to show what the consensus was when these games came out.

Hey look, Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos is coming to Switch ... again. It was already on Nintendo Switch Online, but now you can buy it for $8. Yay??

Had a great time talking to @theoldswitcharoo.bsky.social about the upcoming Cheat Code Compendium. I did my best to answer their tough questions about the project and what people can expect from the book. Excited for people to hear their podcast.

Is it cheating to pick Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem as the best Muppet?

GameZone's reviews were wild. Their take on Yoshi (Game Boy) is one of the craziest.

I'm one of the 770,000 people who bought the Virtual Boy in the mid-1990s. I still own it (in working condition). When people come over, they always want to try it. It's often the first thing that catches their eye. Even if it's as a novelty, people are drawn to it.

Had a great time talking to @switchheadz.bsky.social about the upcoming Cheat Code Compendium pre-order campaign, the Virtual Boy and the pros and cons of emulation on their podcast. We covered a lot of ground in 2 hours.

I'm not real familiar with Markiplier, but this is a bad look. He's acting like The-Numbers is trying to ignore his movie, when they just hadn't finished adding all of the Sunday numbers to the chart. Is he usually this dishonest??

Been working on a full archive of the GameShark advertisements from the late 1990s and early 2000s. After much digging, I think I have found them all and sorted them into 4 categories -- early adverts, the adverts with celebrities, the cheat codes come to life ads & a group I'm calling Shark People.

Back from the beach, which means that it's time to get to work. We're up to nearly $67K on the Cheat Code book Kickstarter. That's great, but there's a lot of work to be done in the days and weeks to come. Excited to see how much I can get done this weekend.

Final night at the beach. Back to the usual grind tomorrow. We are getting a storm for the final 24 hours.

Book pre-order update: We're pushing $60K after one week. I made a silly video about it while at the beach looking at waves (and elk). www.youtube.com/watch?v=YpEa...

A bunch of elk showed up outside the beach house while the Seahawks were winning last night. It was really exciting and I got a bunch of footage of them moseying around. Here's probably the best video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Id5...

Am I drunk enough for this Seahawks game? I guess we'll see soon enough.

The Oscar nominations reminded me that I wanted to see Train Dreams, so I watched it. It was really good, and sad. And gorgeous, too. It really captured the beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
