As for going to the con! Wear comfy shoes, and bring an extra pair of socks with you to change mid day. Seems weird but your feet will be happy, I swear.

Again its the nature of what we do as broadcasters and entertainers. We simply can't know every single chatter or community member. Also if you see them outside the con, assess if its a good time to go say hi or ask for a selfie.

Being chill when interacting with your faves goes a long way!!

Lastly, don't be a parasocial weirdo if you see a streamer you're a fan of out and about during the show. The very nature of streaming is parasocial AF but making it weird in person is 1000x worse than just being weird in chat.

Don't be offended if they don't know you personally.

Unfortunately things you want to see and do will likely overlap. Tis a sad reality of convention attendance. It's also perfectly fine to leave the con and get some fresh air!

Try to leave and get food away from the con in the evenings if you can.

Remember you don't need to see and do everything at the con! Many big panels will be streamed and you can see the vod later. Especially if this is your first convention!

If you haven't gotten the TwitchCon app, download it and get an idea of panels/events you want to see.

It may seem weird to have to say take a shower daily but y'all. Some of the events I've been to have straight up been full of stanky people who wear the same clothes all weekend and don't wash up. It'll make you feel better to be clean. Trust me.

Before heading out to the con each day, if you can lay out your clothes or just pick them. Shower, and carry lotion and hand sanitizer. Every con winds up with a wall of funk at some point and its gross. Deodorant & toothpaste with mouth wash is your friend & everyone else's!

If you can get one, carry a drink cover to parties you'll be attending. Especially if you don't know many people or need to put your drink down and don't have someone to hold it while you hit the restroom or need both hands for a moment.

If you are rooming with someone and are not planning to be joined at the hip all weekend; again let them know your plans so no one is worried if you aren't back to the room before super late in the evening.

Safety first! If you are traveling solo, make sure someone back home knows your hotel and flight info. Check in and let folks know you made it safely to SAN (San Diego's airport code) and your hotel. With everything going on in the world, try not to cause extra worry.

Mask up on the flight(s) in!
