Great to see so many @londonygs.bsky.social at City Hall today for Beyond the Ballot with @makevotesmatter.bsky.social
A line up of young greens with Caroline Russell in the Chamber at City Hall. Caroline speaking at the event looking rather resolute against a purple lit background with white text “London Assembly 25” Caroline listening to Vikram Jain wearing a white shirt in a crowded space.

Expensive luxury or cheap alternative to the car?
E cargo bikes are cheaper to buy and to run than cars but a very expensive addition (up front cost) to a household already running a car.
We need to seriously consider how to support the rapid proliferation of such alternative modes of transport.

Well done to all the brilliant local councillors who have lowered the speed limits their roads to 20mph - often in the face of much hostility.

There is now irrefutable evidence to show your bold decisions are saving lives.

Thank you!

I was told of a complaint by a resident that 2.1m width restrictions are too narrow for their car! Unsurprising given new cars are getting 1cm wider every 2 years - the Volvo XC90 is 2.14m wide 🤯

Surely this age old infrastructure is needed now more than ever to end #carspreading in our cities? 🙏

Don't let anyone tell you people don't cycle in Haringey...figures from Forest & Lime show over 278,000 rides this July in the borough and that doesn't include people riding their own bikes. We need more infrastructure to support pedal power in Haringey www.minutes.haringey.gov.uk/documents/s1...

Particularly on Green Lanes !

Technically, this is not a prescribed use of the marking - if it is floating alone, it should be for wayfinding with a route number, although having it alone is, I guess, trying to sort of do that.

I know it is often used like this, but it has no real value IMO.

- No safe space for cycling
- Tricky crossings
- 🚴 in action

🧵🚓 Last week saw the news that the police weren't going to bother investing the theft of bikes at train stations, if the bike has been left for more than two hours (so basically all bikes at train stations).

BBC London had the story, featuring our CEO, Tom Fyans... 👇
