“No Kings” is great , but we really don't get a functioning democracy back until we internalize, bone deep, the instinctive response to this and every other statement like it: “I don’t care what that rich guy thinks.”

Make it your morning affirmation. Say it ten times at the top of every hour.

A supporter reminded me the other day that Trump ran on the promise that he'd be his supporters' retribution. They were worried that if we take the same approach, we'll lose our soul. I think that's right.

Our promise is to rebuild, not revenge. Accountability, not retribution.

We were in Dodge City and Abilene yesterday with gubernatorial and senate candidates, along with some impressive local and union leaders.

A thousand conversations and a hundred speeches and you're just getting started. A long road but it goes where it needs to.

I'm the only Democrat running for office in the First District. Redistricting would likely help me.

I oppose it. It's wrong to rig elections because voters won't do what they're told.
And it's wrong even if it helps me.

It's a lesson my opponent forgot a long time ago.

So just to be clear: The US is propping up Argentina’s economy, and now Argentina can eliminate its export taxes, so it can sell tons of soybeans to China, so China isn’t forced to buy soybeans from the US, so the US can pay subsidies to keep our farmers solvent.

China expands Argentina soybean buying to 20 cargoes, traders say
Chinese importers kept up a hectic pace of Argentine soybean purchases after the South American supplier's move to abolish export taxes temporarily made its prices competitive, traders said on Wednesday.

I also called a former boss who said he assumed I was running a "pinko commie" campaign, but also said he'd throw a thousand bucks at me.

This thing is working out.

Today was the first day of "call time," phoning people up and asking for money.

Excuse me. Offering them the opportunity to participate in the fight for our nation's future, for the mere price of [TARGET$ASK].

First old friend I talked to just asked what the max was.

This thing is working out.

They burned down our export markets. A bailout now is just telling people to warm themselves by the embers. It won't last, and it doesn't solve the problem.

As a child of the Reagan years, the fact that the *Republican Party* is expropriating shares in companies and shaking companies down while saying stuff like this is wild

ACOG reaffirms that acetaminophen is safe for managing pain and fever during pregnancy. No reputable studies support suggestions like those in HHS’s recent announcement linking acetaminophen use in pregnancy to autism; in fact, high-quality studies show no such risk. https://bit.ly/47Wxc59

These findings in the new Washington Post poll jump off the page: Trump is underwater by 19 points on his handling of the economy (40/59) and underwater by 30 points on his handling of tariffs.

By contrast, the same poll found him at +14 net approval on the economy in Oct. 2020.

Unnerving point from @bcfinucane.bsky.social: The White House appears to be quietly trying to get Republicans to formally turn over a large swath of Congress's warmaking powers to Trump. That's what this new draft bill would do.

Outrageous corruption, and it looks like he was saved from prosecution for it by even more corrupt DOJ appointees--one of whom Republicans later rewarded with a lifetime judicial appointment.

“On Sept. 20, with hidden cameras recording the scene, Homan accepted $50,000 in bills, according to an internal summary of the case.”

Homan was being investigated for allegedly “soliciting payments in exchange for awarding contracts should Trump win the election”

Tom Homan was investigated for accepting $50,000 from undercover FBI agents. Trump's DOJ shut it down.
The FBI and Justice officials closed the investigation, which a Justice Department appointee had called a “deep state” probe in early 2025.

No. That was easy.

It's not even close. The projected returns are unrealistically aggressive, there's no inherent revenue source to support the fund, and the legislature would make fund management impossible.

Fantasies aren't a substitute for governing.
