Two years ago, I wrote a brief piece for @truthout.bsky.social, arguing that we should view #SCOTUS as a national defense agency that has consistently worked to enshrine and defend white nationalism since its inception—a trend likely to intensify under Trump.

The Supreme Court Won’t Save Us — It Was Founded to Defend White Supremacy
Since its inception, the court has operated to enshrine whiteness as the normative baseline in constitutional law.

Thank you. It looks like this is a true crime episode focused on the case incorporating media clips.

This is the main site for anything related to the case so any legitimate requests will come from here:

NEW — I dug into the story of ICE abducting a 13-year-old boy in Massachusetts and moving him 500 miles across state lines without notifying his mother, local cop's complicity, and how the federal government's justification for such cruelty is already falling apart:
ICE took a 13-year-old they said had a gun. Local cops say he didn’t.
Now he's detained 500 miles away from his Massachusetts home.

Hi, they are no longer investigating. This tweet was shared a year ago. Falsely claiming they are still investigating is misleading and can also trigger a lot of pain for a family that has received closure. Please delete.

How W. E. B. Du Bois responded to government policing of "anti-American" sentiment during the 1910s:

"I took great satisfaction in being able to sit back in my chair and answer blandly, 'We are seeking to have the Constitution of the United States thoroughly and completely enforced.' ”
Federal agents invaded even the offices of The Crisis and the National Association for the advancement of colored people and asked searching questions: " just what, after all, were our objects and activities?” I took great satisfaction in being able to sit back in my chair and answer blandly, “We are seeking to have the constitution of the United states thoroughly and completely enforced.” It took some ingenuity, even for Southerners, to make treason out of that.

The deployment of tear gas throughout the Chicago area is a growing health concern. ICE is deploying tear gas in residential neighborhoods, near children, playgrounds, stores, etc. What are the health implications on our communities?

#OtD 11 Oct 1972 Mexican-American activists occupied the abandoned Beacon Hill School in Seattle and founded El Centro de la Raza (Centre for People of All Races) a Chicane/Latine civil rights community organisation. It still exists today stories.workingclasshistory.com/article/8352...

The campaign against “antifa” is about establishing a beachhead for further attacks on speech and assembly rights. We see that today in the effort to preemptively label No Kings protesters as “terrorists.”

Today my daughter's preschool is holding a farewell assembly for one of her classmates whose mother has no choice but to self deport. The school is hoping it will be joyful in tone, so we might make this less upsetting for this 3 year old.

There's just no words for the uselessness of this cruelty.

Seeing pictures of an abandoned tamale cart in Pilsen where ICE took a tamale street vendor. Those photos of left behind carts are so haunting. Community members disappeared. Not just vendors but people who have long standing relationships with the community and people.

Friends and comrades made a crowdfunding page for my family.

It’s really hard to post this. I know that there are a lot of other important issues asking for money but things have gotten to the point where we need to open ourselves up to your support.

Thank you for your consideration.

I teach a history of antifascism course @ruhistorydept.bsky.social and figured I'd start an ongoing thread this semester to share some insights from course readings and recommend some great works on antifascism.
